Auto Trip Reset

Hi,

I have my settings such that the trip a odometer and stats should auto reset with each fill up. It seems very flaky and doesn't seem to do it all that often.

What am I doing "wrong"? Anyone know what makes this reset on its own like its supposed to?

Thanks

Make sure you are looking at trip set "A", not "B", as it only resets "A" during fill up.

Yes, I definitely am.

Typically what I do is turn off my engine, remove the keys, open the gas tank door, remove the gas cap, fill the tank, screw on the gas cap, close the tank door, start my engine.

Trip A, Mileage A, Avg MPG, etc... usually show the same data as before. Sometimes it does reset like its should.

I'm wondering if there is a specific process or trigger that makes it reset or even to see if other people have the issue.

you have to start driving before it will reset. that is the trigger.

Interesting...I think I probably have manually reset it before shifting out of park. I'll keep this in mind next time I fill up.

Thanks

that's exactly what it is. I only realized that it resets itself after I once forgot to do it manually and I drove out of the gas station. When I went to reset Trip A, it was already back to 0.

Yup, same on the 1G. Took me a while to figure that out too.
