Auto setting and recric.

This is the 1st Honda product I have owned. I always use the auto setting with the HVAC control and have the temp set to 19C[66F]. Not very warm here yet. A few days that have gotten to 19 or 20[66F] deg. When in the auto setting,it will kick into recric. It will switch over to fresh air,but at that time i'm almost home[9km from work] Every other car I have driven, the recric will not kick in until it is blistering hot out. Is this normal operation for the TSX?

In Auto setting, the system automatically blend fresh (outside)/ and inside (recirc) to get to your desire temp setting. I noticed mine goes to recirc setting in the morning also (car parked in garage so it's cool inside), and kicked into fresh as I drive to work ( a two hour round trip).

I prefer to maually defeat the recirc on a hot day because I believe the inside temp is actually hotter than the outside if the car has been sitting in the sun with the windows up. Or, I drive with the windows down for the first block or so to evacuate the cabin heat

As I'm walking to my car, I usually use the key to open up all the windows and sunroof so that by the time I sit down in the car, it's considerably cooler.

I use that too, I sure would like to have a stereo shop install a (whatever) so the windows and roof would close when the remote lock is pressed. I had that on another vehicle and it was a nice feature.
