Asking for opinions before I give up

I would like to ask everyone who still has unslove pinging issue. I had TSB-09-041 and PCM upgrade done and also using name brand 93 gas. I still can hear pinging sound around 2K RPM.(not loud, but it is there). I don't know whatelse I can ask dealer to do. Can someone give me an idea? any inputs will be appreciated. Thanks.

try to find some race gas (100 octane)
mix this with 93 to make 96, to see if the pinging goes away.

our engines have a very high compression ratio. I would not be surprised if it pinged on 93 octane.

Thanks for your suggestions. If this ia a case I feel like this is a design flaw for Honda to overtune the engine, beacuse owner manual state 93 is only recommandation. I have no problem to put 93 gas, but problem still remain. I alreday spent enough money on the car. even 96 gas can cure the problem. I don't want to spend extra money on it. beacuse of our car is not a real "race car". It is just a four door sedan.

Do you think dealer has any solutions, beside the higher octane gas?

technically, with the high compression, it is race car status.

The TSB you mentioned needs to be done along with another TSB to rid the "nosie" all-together. Did you get TSB# 09-109 done?

A lot of people mistake that one for pinging. I did both the TSB you mentioned plus 09-109 and have no issues.

Hope this helps.

after reading your OP, I can almost guarantee you that it's TSB#09-109...

"popping" is pretty much how it's universally described by owners. Good luck!

correct me if i am wrong. it should be 09-019. I can not find 09-109. if it is 09-019. I did this before 09-041. but it is kind of body related work, not engine work.

Correct; sorry it's 09-109. I know it's body related, but a lot of people (myself included) mistook it for pinging...
