Anyone else purchase the StopTech Acurazine Brake Package from XLR8?
2009 TSX.
Bought the brake package last week or so.
http://store.excelerateperformance.c.../i-466578.aspx
Had the dealer install it today.
Almost everything went flawless but they said the rear pads do NOT fit on this car... they then showed me that the original pads and StopTech pads are completely differently sized.
So I have the dealer put the original pads with the aftermarket rotors so I can at least drive my car.
I personally saw the original vs aftermarket pads are not identically sized and I had the service manager of the Acura service dealership who i've gone to for 4 years tell me they don't fit.
Acura says the pads 100% do not fit.
XLR8 says the pads will 100% fit.
I called XLR8 and they asked what part number the box for the rear pads were. I say 309.05370 and they say that's correct and will fit the 2009 acura tsx. So i'm thinking ok what now... and they said they want a picture of the two set of pads showing they are different. I would love to provide that but that's kinda impossible at the moment for me.
Anyone else purchase this kit and have the same experience?

tell them you want a refund as you were told the pads do not fit by a authorized acura dealer..
josh should refund you..
also if you have access to tools, you can simply take your rear brake pads out. its just a like 2 bolts or something.. it slides out after that.. then take a picture really quick and assemble it back up.

I should have gotten the name of the guy I spoke with when I called XLR8. After confirming what the part number on the box said he said the only option I had at that point was sending a picture of both pads showing they aren't identical.
Am I in the wrong to think/say WTF??
I wish I had the tools / means / time to do it myself and snap a quick picture but I don't unfortunately.
I'm just really bummed that when I spend $380, a few hundred on labor, and take time out of my busy schedule to get this done, it isn't done right the first time.
I'll call XLR8 tomorrow morning and ask for Josh.
Thanks guys.

I've worked with Excelerate before, they're really good about ensuring that everything works and goes smoothly. Don't let this thread throw anyone off.

I've called them before, during, and after purchasing this package and they've been nothing but helpful and very professional. In this case I just felt like I was put in between a rock and hard place so I came here to ask you guys for advice and insight.
The 4 rotors + 2 front pads are working flawlessly so far and everything feels great. My car stops so much better now too and there is zero squeal (something my original rotors/pads did all the time).
I'm inclined to think STOPTECH packaged these wrong from factory.

I also want to make clear my intent here isn't to give Excelerate a bad rep or anything close to that.

So, I have confirmed what happened. STOPTECH's print catalog says the 09-10 TSX uses a XXX.05370 but their newest online catalog now says the 09-10 TSX uses a different rear pad, a XXX.13360, and the 11-12 TSX uses yet an even different rear pad, XXX.14510. So I do apologize for the issue. Going forward, anyone who purchases this package will need to specify the year of their TSX so we can send you the correct rear pads.

Burning Brakes
Question, are the 11-12 a bigger pad than the 09-10? If they're the same rotor, maybe the thickness has changed, or the pad material did....
Just curious.
Just curious.
