Any way to get Sirius in the TSX?
I am curious if their is anyway to "hack" the XM radio to recieve Sirius? Or has anyone installed a Sirius Plug and Play radio?
I have a lifetime account with a Sirius Plug and Play that is sitting in my room because I dont want to add and wire up a box in my TSX.
Anyone install one clean?

You'll have to do an aftermarket installation. The two services are not compatable right now, so there's no way to "hack" an XM reciever and make it play Sirius broadcasts. Maybe after the two merge there will be some cross-compatability, but there's none at this time.

Yeah, I would give it some more time and wait for the merger to be complete and see if a product comes out that allows that. You may be able to call CS also and see if they can just transfer your acct over for the time so that you don't have to pay extra for it...they will prob. fight you at first, but if you are persistant who knows?

First-ever A La Carte packages
Of those eight packages, two will be "a la carte" packages. These will be the first ever a la carte options in subscription media. Ever. You will have the choice of either a 50 channel package (starting at $6.99) or a 100 channel package ($14.99), and then choose from a selection of channels to your liking. "Premium" content will cost more, but this will be the first time that you can pick and choose what channels you want on your radio. (Hint: if you mostly want the commercial-free music, with a smattering of news/talk, then the a la carte packages will be perfect for you.)
There's one caveat: A la carte programming will only be available for subscribers using new radios.
These new a la carte capable radios are currently in development and will be brought to market following final approval of the merger. Sirius and XM originally estimated it would take one-year to bring them to market, but since the merger process has dragged on much longer than anyone expected, it's hard to know the exact timeline now.

I called XM today because my free trial is up next month and when I asked about the Sirius merger they told me that it could be weeks to months to next year before everything gets settled.
Of course, if I called back and talked to a different person I would probably get a different story, but... it looks like we do have a little while before we get the Sirius option.

I know I didn't dream this but somewhere on this forum, I think in the audio section, someone explained how to convert the XM into sirius and had step by step picture on how to do it. I have been trying to locate it for a while with no luck, if someone knows where to find, please send the link. It was neat cause it was pretty straight forward and had to do with the xm receiver in the trunk and very minor work...

Also it looks like you have to have the SIRIUS SC-C1 in order for it to work.

Actually it says it will not work with any Honda/Acura with the Tech Package. But then if you scroll down it lists TSX 05+ ALL.

I am ordering
Sirius SC-VDOC1 SiriusConnect Plug and Play Dock
Sirius HON-SC1 SiriusConnect to Honda/Acura Interface
Allow me to use my PNP radio that has a lifetiime subscription on it.
I found a guy that makes the adapter cable for 73 bucks that allows you to use the XM antenna. He seems to be the guy with the answers, I am gonna confirm that it works with the 09 without Tech, then order.
Crutchfield has the parts for just as cheap as tss site, and crutchfield has great return policies.

Review the DIY list under forum FAQs. I believe I recall someone posting about how to remove the XM radio (the way to prevent it from coming up on the audio list at all).

with 8K shares of SIRI I know a little bit bout this. Supposedly, whether you have an XM or sirrius radio, you should be able this fall to get a package for around $12.99 that includes stations from both, or mix and match stations from each for $6.99. Whether that is true I dont know, i have a siri unit and am hoping that is true so that I can get the good sports packages both have. If you have any $$ saved up, I highly suggest you put 2--3K into SIRI as the stock has taken a beating. SIRI merged with XM at a point when XM stock and SIRI stock together added up to $15 bucks. The stock is now $1.40 a share due to the amount of debt, but that debt will be covered next february and when the debt is sucessfully covered (ie the get another loan to cover the remaining debt) if the subscribers have increased, it will be $3 to $4 a share. SIRI actually made money in only one quater, and XM never has, but the combined companies will save 400 million each year in combined savings and now are the ONLY satillite radio co in the US and are launching 2 new satillites. Apple recently allowed a program which works on iphone to get SIRI, and the most common losses of new users are when new car owners free 6months of siri or xm runs out, and SIRI is going to start hammering the market with ads for $6.99 service this fall. If you do the math, if you spend $1,400 you can get 1,000 shares and this stock will be $10.00 a share or more in 3-4 years.

Wow, I didnt' realize it was only at $1.40. Eh....I bought XM 5 years ago when it was in the low 20's. I should have sold my XM when it peaked 3.5 years ago in the mid 40's. I'm still kicking myself in the ass for that. At the same time I bought 1k shares of Siri at $3. It too peaked around 3.5 years ago at $8-9 I think??
