My dealer is telling me Acura hasn't built any MTs yet for the MY2011 and they will be a special order only with a 100-120 day wait. Is this just a tactic to get me into an Auto, which they have on the lot?

The other 3 dealers close by don't have any MTs in stock either. Nor do they seem eager to look and do a dealer pull for one.

It seems Acura is really ratcheting down its builds of MTs for the U.S. market...

 

I did a search on Cars.com, the website pulled a couple 6MT Tech 2011s up. May want to inform your dealer. They should be able to do a dealer pull for one.




When I bought my TSX, I had them do a dealer pull. I wanted the PWP with ebony, which they did not have on their lot. I also told them I was not going to purchase unless they waived the destination fee. I could have driven their myself and saved ~450 dollars.

 

At least you can still get a 6MT Tech model in US, Acura Canada discontinued 6MT on the Tech model for 2011, only available in Base (Cloth seat, no foglight, no memory seat etc ) and Premium (same as US Base) models.

 

thats what i love about acura, atleast in the US. its all stock. leather, moonroof, bluetooth, power and heated seats. its sad that bmw nitpicks. i went into bmw with a frien and got a price on the 328xi, then got informed that it didnt even have power seats or real leather. on a bmw. i lol'ed at the guy and explained how much i pay for an acura and what it has. he had nothing to say

Up here in Canada, we pay C$31,890 for Base 6MT, add $1300 for an automatic C$33,190. And for that, you get cloth seat, no HID, no auto headlights, no foglights or memory seat.

US and Canadian Dollar is at par at the moment, you pay US$32,710 for an automatic Tech model, that's $500 less than what we have to pay for the Base 5AT. The I4 Tech model is C$37,990 or over $7K more than US MSRP. Simply not fair

 

how much is importing tsxtech? =P how would you feel about buying the car in the states, like upstate ny, or vermont, or whatever is by you, and driving it across the border. or is that frowned upon

 

Importing from US is a tempting thought, the vehicle is basically the same, will need to change odometer to read km/h instead of mph. The cost should be around $3-4K.

It's the warranty issue, Canadian dealers won't honor any warranty repair work on a US vehicle, so things like blown speakers etc will require me driving 90 minutes south (plus border crossing-can be up to 2 hrs wait depending on time of day) to have warranty work done. Not to mention a non US resident may not be able to take advantage any low financing terms offered by Acura US.

 

i drove one over the weekend. man that thing pulls. totally love the acceleration with the MT. but personally id rather get a 2010 mainly for the looks. 2011 doesnt appeal to me
