I am thinking of getting 3M Crystalline Tints on my car. I was told that car comes with a default factory tint. I was thinking of doing 40% on all windows. Will adding the 40% on top of the default tint make the windows illegal? Also, will this brand block signal from the GPS?

In MA and depends on inspectors, they can fail your car during state inspection for thickness violation.

I visited that website aleady. I was a bit confused if my 40% will make it to dark. Dont want to get a ticket every where I drive.

 

It depends on what the factory tint is. More than likely the dealer installed the tint on the car. Also, its not really dependant on the brand but rather their product line. The 3M Crystalline line does not contain metallic so it will not interfere with any GPS reception.

 

The factory privacy glass is negligible, but will darken your aftermarket tint slightly. Better to ask the tint shop which % to get if you are worried about staying legal.
