2nd gen TSX side molding and film?
I haven't seen the post yet or i missed it... sorry if there is another post but
has anyone installed side molding on their tsx? or is there such thing as bumper molding as well?
i looked up online and it looks odd... but i don't want my car to get attacked by market karts or doors...
should i buy the molding online and have it installed myself or go to the dealer?
and also, i want to buy some film for door handles and by the trunk.. what do you guys recommend?
thank you!

Bro
Don't do the molding. It looks disgusting. Especially the ones I see, which are on the bottom 3rd of the car.
At least my old Accords had them in the middle of the door.
When I was shopping for a car, I was specifically looking for one that didn't have any.
Don't do it.
If you do, might as well add sidewalk feelers to the bumpers too, like they do in FLorida

I get all my 3M films at a great shop in Encino. My other cars have full front/rear bras, and they hold up no issues 7-8 years at least.
I had the shop do the rear trunk bottom on my TSX wagon and you can't tell, and it looks great. Rest of my TSX doesn't have any film, and given the cheap price of the car, it doesn't need it. My work garage and home garage is all it really sees, so not much abuse at all.

i don't think i'll be getting the moldings but def looking to get some film onto my car... i tried generic cheap film from amazon once, when i tried to take it off, there is that sticky residue and it took me months to take that glue off.

Just to give a contrary opinion, the body side moldings aren't *that* ugly. They remind me of classic Hondas and Acuras. It wasn't very important to me, but my wife wanted them.
But do they protect? In the 3+ years and 38,000 miles we've owned the wagon, I'd have to say nah, they didn't help that much.

They actually look decent in that photo. I recall seeing them on this forum on a white 2G and it looked hideous. At least, I cringed when I had seen it then.
Get them if you're sold on it! Do you. I merely just left an opinion but obviously you can choose to ignore that haha
I liked seeing the body side molding on my family's 1994 Accord EX-R (we live in Canada, hence EX-R for the top model). They looked clean, and flow really nice with the car. THAT car without it IMO would look awkward. I think it was designed to have the moldings from factory; no options when purchasing the vehicle. Except maybe the EX-R had paint matched moldings whereas the lower end models had black plastic looking ones.
Anyway, I doubt they will do any good in terms of protecting your car from dings/scratches. But if you enjoy the way it looks, get them if the price is right.

I know some guys prefer the sleek look, so they don't go for the side body moldings. To each his own. I think the trend is away from side body moldings... body panels are too curvy nowadays.
As for protection, they help just a little, but that's all. You will still get door dings. I get better protection if I park far away from the herd, or if I find a coveted corner spot where only 1 side is exposed.

Everybody here drives a SUV. The door molding are SO LOW, that it won't help you OP, since me and you live in the same area
Having owned many a "classic Honda" the door moulding was in the center of the door. Used to break up the design of the flat Honda doors.
The TSX door molding being so low, looks 1) like an afterthought 2) doesn't help with dings 3) wasted $ 4) Ugly
