I do believe you are correct, so it is 3 years for Honda and 4 for Acura.

Honda is 3yrs/36K miles according to the warranty information on the back of one of my invoices from Vinart dealerships-the sell Honda, acura and Hyundai.

I am putting group 24F in my 2012 TSX 4CYL. Group 51R is too small of a battery for that car. I looked parts for V6 and cost for battery box and hold down is around $26 plus cost of new battery. When done I will post pics and cost break down. My car has failed to start once already and once is one too many times.

I would suggest that your change may only mask another issue. Millions of Honda's and Acura's use the OE size battery with no problems (including mine, and it was 7F here yesterday morning).

^ It depends on the climate where people operate the car - In cold regions, the factory honda batteries suck big time. They pretty much don't last and I would not trust them to reliably and consistently start the car at 20 below.

Note that Toyota has a special package for cold climates that includes beefed up battery and alternator (comes standard for certain SUVs sold in Canada). I have been stuck in the cold before with a car not starting and it's really not fun...

If I had the 4 cylinder TSB (or Accord...) I too would upgrade the battery. (Thankfully there is space in there)

You need to define cold regions. I'm in the Northeast (USA), and we see it all temperature wise (nothing that compares with what some of Canada sees though)(that said, if people are crazy enough to live where it gets to like -20F to -40F, they deserve whatever misery visits them). I realize that the OE batteries get a bad rap (though I'm on my third TSX, starting with a new 05, with zero battery problems), but there are OE group batteries available with considerably more CCAs than OE. If that's not enough, and drastic steps are necessary, that's fine, but I would resist painting everyone's battery needs with the same brush.

i like this idea....a slightly bigger battery for size......I will still go aftermarket when i need to but nice it can be a bigger group with more cca with the v6 tray and such.

Please don't shoot me...I bought the best Walmart. About $80. 5-year warranty. 3-year full replacement. Highest CCA. Need for Wisconsin winter. (s)dealer 100 miles from home.

The battery on my 2012 TSX died today. Got the car 2 months ago, and records showed Acrua replaced the original battery in 2015. So I guess they last 2-3 years, which sucks because the last time I bought a car battery was in the early 2000s. Drove a used 97 C230 for damn near a decade (2007 to 2015) and never had battery issues, one time even left it parked for 6 weeks while I was on vacation, it still had no problems starting up.

Upgrade the battery to a bigger size while you're at it - 750CCA

Fyi this stock positive terminal may not like to play nice with the new battery. Mine did not fit snug - Had to replace it.
