Anybody know of a decent Jeep forum? I'm contemplating a Wrangler as a great weather/bad weather vehicle.

Injen Intake

Hey guys!

I just bought a 2012 TSX and I am looking for an Injen intake. I found a used one locally but it fits the 2004-2008 TSX. I know they have the same engine but will this intake fit on my car? Thanks for the help guys!

Honestly, I say save your money for a better mod. Most aftermarket intakes do little to nothing for your car, if anything, the stock air box performs better. Unless you're going all out with bolt-ons and such, then it might help, but I say just leave it as is.

Yah I know that it's not going to give me much if any power, more so doing an intake for the sound.

Hey MC,

How did you come through rainpocolypse?

Did your car get extra flooded with no window? Or did it shelter in the garage or something?

Your casa survive?

Get the one that is made for your car, don't be cheap. I got a brand new AEM for $150 on ebay.

like others have mention, it's mostly for a placebo effect and noise lol

Does it seem odd that the TSX isn't included in the airbag recall?

I keep a jump battery in my trunk (probs weighs 15lbs) because of the cold days during Ohio winter, and also it's nice to have when someone is in trouble.

Problem is.. it rolls around my trunk when I take hard turns. Do you guys have any good solutions for securing things? I was thinking about some double side velcro, but the battery pack sits in two ridges rather than having a flat bottom. Anyone have ideas?

Milk crate and if it slides around, a bungee cord to secure it to a hook or something?

Joe I have the exact same problem and have been thinking about how to fix it for a long time. Then I saw these amazing things that my gf's VW has! They're 90° plastic bits with velcro on the bottom. They're freaking genius. Only thing is I haven't tested to see if velcro sticks to our trunk bottom yet. Will need to test soon and report back.

Glue down long strips of velcro (soft side up) along the liner so the blocks can stick to it. You probably won't be able to sell the liner down the road but it'll work!

Try drawer liner. That (usually) black checkerboard looking foam stuff people put in the bottom of their toolbox drawers. You can also get it in pretty colors at Walmart for lining kitchen cabinets.

Cut a section of that and use double sided tape to stick it to the bottom of the thing you don't want to slide.

In my wife's old car, I had one of those multi-gallon roughly rectangular shaped drinking water bottles cut down to a little tray size to keep misc odds and ends in the trunk. It slid so I put some drawer liner scraps on the bottom with double sided tape. It doesn't move any more.

Actually.. I don't think my battery is sliding, I think it's tipping over and then proceeding to roll until it hits the other side of the trunk lol

I currently have the rubber shelf liner in my trunk and it does a decent job. I still have to arrange things in a certain way so that they don't roll around though. After some spirited driving my trunk is in disarray. I'd rather have the velcro pieces so that groceries and things stay in place.

^^^ That's the stuff!

It helps with sliding, not tipping or rolling. For things that tend to tip or roll, you might need to put them in a more stable container. I used a milk crate in my old truck, a cut down water bottle in the wife's car, and an old Amazon box in a prior car.

I have an empty produce box I kept from one of the many Costco runs to place things in + a stroller. It's pretty snug in the trunk.

I have the acura cargo organizer

08U20-STK-200 | Acura Soft Cargo Organizer (MDX, RDX, TSX) - Bernardi Parts

Folds flat without unhooking when not needed, pops up in about 20 seconds, unless your hands are full of groceries.

Need to rant.

So I swapped my Michelin PSS 225/40r18, 245/35r18 with my buddy's PSS 235/40r18, 255/35r18, and thought this would be a good opportunity to finally put my Work valve stems on. To do that and to retain TPMS, I need to get my TPMS strapped to the barrel of the wheel via TPMS strap kit.

Saturday April 16th
I'm at the shop with my buddy getting the work done. Prior to this day when we made the appointment, I told them I would need my TPMS strapped to the barrel via a strap kit. They said okay to the work. I get here on time for an 11:30am appointment, and we end up leaving the damn shop near 4pm. What, the fuck.

Issues following:
While about to finally leave, I do an inspection. One of my wheels have a rash mark on it, and they obviously deny it. Near 4.5 fucken hours and I get this bullshit as I'm about to leave? I got them to schedule another appointment for me to sand/touch up that spot on my wheel.

I'm finally leaving the shop, already pissed at how long the work took and the new rash, and I hear clunking noises. Fuck me. They did some hack-job strap kit didn't they. When I was still trying to figure out wtf the noise was, to me it sounded like there was a loose wrench hitting the ground. It was awful.

I call them back the next day to tell them they fucked up, and guess what they said. They had the nerve to tell me that, oh it's my fault because I didn't bring in my own strap kit. What, the fuck? Are you fucking serious? Why didn't you refuse the work in the first place? How does this argument make ANY sense. I got really offended by this, and was on the cusp of raising my voice to the people who would be handling my car. I got the point across that they fucked up, so they're going to fix this for me, too.

Friday April 22
I'm here for my second appointment at 10am, and I didn't bring any cash because I know I'm not paying a cent more for their bullshit. Mind you, the workers themselves are very nice, seemingly knowledgeable individuals, but I'm guessing this is just something they haven't had much experience with.

Anyway, the touch up was pretty horrendous, but I've given up hope before this day already so I didn't care for it much. I'll probably fix it myself once I get a chance. I know it won't look the same no matter how much time/effort I put into this since the Work wheel is anodized from the factory, but my gosh it looks like someone rushed putting on concealer of the wrong shade; all spotty and wrong. I digress, sort of.

While the tires were dismounted, I had a brief look at one of the wheels. Did they use tape to keep my TPMS on the barrel?! I wasn't close enough to get a good enough look, but I was definitely not happy with what I saw. Tires eventually got mounted back on, and the workers are actually doing a sanity test to see if the TPMS would break loose. They bounced my wheels a few times, drove my car around the block once, and they claim it's good.

Everything no charge and it's 11:30am; an hour and a half? Not too shabby. I'm a happy camper, I got what I asked for, knowing before hand that the touch up would actually be a fuck up. I drive off headed to work. No issues so far! But (there's always a but), once I got off the freeway and made my way to my office parking lot, I'm at a rolling speed by this point and I hear the clunk come back. Fuck my life. At this point, I've totally given up on this shop, and I don't even care anymore. I'll take it to another shop to get this done right. It's my fault for coming here, I can't blame them too much for being incompetent.

Sunday April 24
I'm on the freeway going northbound, and my TPMS light comes on:
CHECK TPMS SYSTEM (TPMS)
*presses SEL button*
SYSTEM FUNCTION ERROR (all 4 tires are lit up on the MID as if they were all flat)
*presses SEL button*
TIRE PRESSURE
--- ---
--- ---

Well, I think by this point, it's a safe assumption that the clunking had finally destroyed one (or more) of my TPMS sensors. It's no coincidence really... I ran some errands, turned the car back on and same issue. I had dinner with my parents, turned the car back on and the same issue. I'm SOL. I order a set of 4 replacement TPMS sensors for ~$60 USD, bought myself a TPMS strap kit for ~$40 (MY lesson learned, but still THEIR fuck up), and now I wait for this whole process to start over. Obviously at a different shop. All because I wanted to be a ricer and have blue Work valve stems sticking out of my summer wheels .

End of rant (for now).

Doubt you need them. I need them because my Work wheels come with Work valve stems. To use the valve stems, I cannot use our TPMS as they also act as the valve stems. To use both, I need to put the TPMS in between the tire/wheel entirely; strapped onto the barrel. That way I get readings, and I can still see my pretty Work valve stems. #ricer

that sucks Xtcnrice!

I know you probably want to know your actual air pressure on each tire, but if you don't care, you can do what the lexus guys are doing, build a small canister, put the TPMS in it, fill it up to desire psi and avoid dash lights lol

Cool, glad I don't have to buy something else lol

You should just use nail polish and paint the valve stems of the OEM TPMS units haha

If my memory serves me, it was mentioned one time that Justin had CRABS, and one of the admins changed his avatar..

And thus... quite regularly they update/change his avatar based on new crabby antics.

While that's true, I'm talking about when crabman got banned along with the pink dog.

I think our uncle, I mean fellow forum member, the cu2wagon guy who hasn't really modded the wagon knows the story.

Supposed to hail here again this evening... 3rd time in a month's span. I'm really considering buying a beater to drive around when the weather gets rough or if I'm going somewhere the parking is sketchy. Thinking of buying a 90's Accord for around $1-2k.
