Btw your model info on your TSX is incorrect "TSX Type R AMG M". You just CF'd your grill, so you have also reached RS status. Your TSX is also tuned so you need the Superleggera as well, since that shits fast. Should be TSX Type R AMG M RS Superleggera.

I've had some people recommend I use a medium cut polish (like UC) and follow up with a fine polish since Acura paint is very soft. Some people say M105 instead of UC, some say UC instead of M105, some say UC doesn't do anything, some say M105 too hard to work with and mars soft paints etc... No idea wtf to use now. Don't want to order like 6 different products since I have to spend $80+ on pads and back plate.

tbh I'm really into my M205 right now, that I don't even bother/need to use UC before it. Might just be cuz I don't have a terrible amount of scratches/swirls, but difference is night and day. I'm in love with the car's paint right now lol. You just gotta experiment. It's never clear what products you must use from the get-go; pro detailers have a good idea of what will work but even then it's really just a guess. Try using M205 first, and if it's not cutting it for you, move up to M105 or UC. IMO don't get both, just either one is fine. I say get M105 instead of UC. You won't run into problems if you're competent and not leaving the DA on one spot for long periods of time. Plus, you'll gain experience from trying out M205 first, so if you're a complete noob, you won't really be screwing anything up the first time around because M205 is on the milder side.

A tip that I found useful is that, when I finish polishing and I need to wipe off the residue, add a bit of IPA (isopropyl alcohol) to your MFT. The IPA helps with getting the gunk off without being too rough on your paint. It's also beneficial in the sense that, people often think that they've polished the paint real nice, but in reality some gunk is still on the paint and it only makes it seem like the scratches are gone. The IPA will go a long way in helping you better see if your paint is scratch-free or not.

About that TSX.... IS F style tips? and is that like custom mouldings (pooring done btw) on a modulo front?! oh and those headlight leds....

btw I'm using the same pads this person used (Lake Country Hydrotech pads). They're pretty damn good, and many recommend them over the more traditional CCS pads.

I would use M105 first, but I heard it's difficult to use since it dusts a lot, and I don't want to mess up with an aggressive compound. I'll use something like M205 and go up from there.

Dusting is pretty inevitable even with M205, so yeah you might experience even more of it with M105. Another tip is to "prime" your pad the first time you use it in your session (not first time ever). By prime, I mean add a little more polish in addition to a few dots on the pad the first time, and spread it around the pad with your finger. This will sort of cause your pad to be a bit more "damp" if you will, and it should dust a bit less. All subsequent times you add compound to your pad on that same day/sitting, you won't need to do this as the pad is already primed; just a few dots on the pad should be fine.

Take before/after or 50/50 shots when you get to it! I love seeing the difference on black cars. It's pretty hard to see the swirls on white cars... but I'm pretty OCD so I decided to polish it anyways lol

Thanks! Also what's the best way to clean the pad when after you do a few passes? Take a MF towel and spin the polisher against it? Deciding between the Griots Garage 6" and 7424XP since those seem nearly impossible to screw up with.

I just use a clean terry cloth towel and spin the polisher against that. I save my MFTs for the car

There are 4 new TSX's where I live. The cheapest one is a SE CBP Auto @ 32.5k. The rest are Techs at $34.4k.
