Fascinating!
The S-Class sets the benchmark and it's been doing that for a very long time... I never said I had knowledge but I do know the E65/E66 BMW 7 series is a POS, the owners cuss their cars out themselves.

It's my dad's TSX but I do have good experience driving it.

It's all opinions, people that are on the E39 M5Board and that own the M5 are looking forward to the new M4, some are planning to buy it. BMW M series are a lot of money in maintenance.

I dunno why but when i think of the TSX i think of a car for younger ppl. dunno why. The salesman told me mostly high school grads / college kids buy the car.
I don't even think my parents have even driven my TSX ever.

Ehh I think some old people like the TSX. It has good bang for buck at the price and doesn't have expensive maintenance. many people I've talked to who are 50+ Mainly consider Acura, Lexus, BMW, MB in their search for a new car. TSX undercuts every other model made by other brands (CLA with same options is like (37k). At the same time I see why it's a younger person car because it cheaper (then most of the competition) and is sporty. The only other car I considered was a CPO E90 2010 328i.

Yeah. it's a great bang for buck car. At the same time though to me at least, it kind of feels like the fit and finish is a notch or two below other cars. I love my TSX, but i feel like if i were older i'd prefer something a bit bigger and more refined.

Who knows, some people when they get older they want a nice sports car, maybe it's to make up for them not having it earlier in time or just having something fun other than the same old. I was really obsessed with M5's but maintenance is very expensive and the TSX is a great value.

Odus I said quite a few times I was in high school and different things along the lines. lol

Best mod i have done... NFC tag under the dash. So when i get into the car i touch the phone to the center console and it automatically connects to bluetooth audio and the car's ECU, loads up "car mode" and starts playing music.

My aero bumper is going to be delivered day after tomorrow. Dropped the car off at the shop this morning and got a Kia Optima as a rental. Optima sucks so hard compared to the tsx.

How do you program the NFC? Bluetooth already automatically connects and starts playing music for me. Do you not want to have bluetooth on all day? Tell me more.

Do you have an iPhone? I have an S3, The galaxy S3 does not always automatically connect to the car. I don't leave BT on all day also.
To setup the NFC tag you just swipe it against the phone and program via the app (im using NFC Tasker)
So the way i have mine programmed is this: disable wifi, enable BT, GPS, Connect to handsfreelink, connect to ECU, launch OBD Torque APP (If installed), Open google music (If installed). All this happens in like 2 seconds... super convenient.
The program is written to the tag, not the phone... meaning ANY android phone with NFC can be swiped across and connected to the car easily (The tag stores the BT address)

My next step is to integrate wireless charging into my phone holder.

I have an S4. I used to have an HTC Sensation, both of which played music automatically. Although on one of the custom roms on the sensation it would connect to bt but not start playing automatically. Maybe it has to do with your android version.

What phone holder are you using? I have been wanting one for like a year but have been lazy in looking for one/making one.

Yeah it's something weird with my ROM.
here's a shitty pic but this is my phone holder. It's a mount from proclip and a universal expanding phone holder. The plan is to integrate the wireless charger inside the holder

Well obviously, but i mean on some cars it's easier to route wires than others. Just wondering how much of a pain in the ass it is in the TSX specifically.

meh. if you do one install, you can figure out the rest pretty easy.

plus, I know my TL like the back of my hand and can tear it apart pretty fast.

you're a smart guy, take a look at the firewall and see how feasible it is for you.

It sucks huge dick trying to route wires through our firewall to the engine bay. I went the ghetto way and routed it through the door jamb.

imo would have looked nicer with the car on the left side. Or if the car was facing left.

^ I planned it like that since I wanted a new cover photo on facebook lol. I was thinking of facing the left too, but the way the path is paved, I'd have to turn around again, and I didn't wanna spend too much time there

if you mean, just turn on the foglights only, you need to set up an independent switch for it. in mcfagboy's case he has his headlights on too since standard operation of foglights require your headlights to be on.

Does a CAI / SRI intake for this car actually do anything in terms of performance?

That's what i figured. Like 1-2 HP at most? Probably not even worth it then.

Isn't it like 1-2 hp only with lots of other engine/exhaust mods? CAI to me is a huge gimmick.
