2011 TSX - Trunk not opening from cabin or button on deck lid

Hey guys,

Got an interesting one here. Starting yesterday the trunk button in the car and under the trunk lip are not opening in the trunk. However the remote button does work. Before I rip out the trunk lining and all that for harnesses is there something I should be looking for?

Known issue or TSB i'm not aware of?

Thanks,
Matt

The switch in the upper left corner of the glove compartment has been inadvertently tripped. This is to prevent valet or someone breaking into your car from accessing the trunk. Try flipping the switch and see if that fixes the problem.

I locked my glove box on my old S40 when i dropped it off at the dealership and nobody could figure out why my trunk wouldn't open later after I picked the car up. I guess its good cover, I just don't Valet a lot to where I would ever look for that feature in a car.

+1 MrOto.
you flip that switch, lock the glove compartment and give the valet your valet key and they can't open your glove or trunk. did that last time and the attendant was yelling at the valet to pop the trunk but he looked bewildered as to why it didn't work.

Thanks all. I will try it out this afternoon. Probably is that, though i'd be curious who/how that got tripped. I normally have the glovebox locked. We'll see.

Thanks,
Matt

I never knew there was a lockout for the trunk release. I figured there had to be since it makes no sense to have a valet key if anyone is still able to access the trunk lol
