Never owned an Acura. Big Honda fan though. Local person selling a 2011 TSX with 122K. Anything questions I should ask before making an offer? Any common problems on these? Should 122K scare me? Good car for teen drivers? Person uses 93 octane. Can I switch to the cheap stuff? Thanks!

it's just like buying any other used car!!
Dont ask the owner, ask the car!! people can and do lie..the car will never lie to you..
if you are not experienced with inspecting a car, you can take it to a mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection and they'll let you know if anything is wrong mechanically.

it's a very good car for a teen, it's a safe honda!

 

person disclosed that there is a new front bumper on vehicle. I noticed a spot of rust on hood. I am not a car guy, is that a major red flag? Not sure if rust is from bumper issue.

 

a spot of rust? like a rock hit it and chipped away at the paint to reveal steel and then form rust?
or like rust because front end is totally damaged?
if one isnt comfortable spotting mechanical disrepair, one needs to get a pre-purchase-inspection done by a trusted or independent mechanic.
