Question 2009 vs 2010

My 06 lease is up and I am debating between the 09 and 10 TSX w/ tech package. My dealer has both and I am trying to figure out what the differences between the two are. I've read about the 09 engine ping, haven't heard this yet on the 2010. From what Acura is telling us the only change is the 'feel' of the steering - a quality I really like in my 06.

Are there any other differences? One thread I read somewhere mentioned suspension improvements but I couldn't tell if they were only talking about the v6.

Any thoughts are much appreciated as I've got about a week before decision time.

They also removed the clear cover over the Navi screen for less glare.

If you like a "German" feel choice is easy, get the 2010. Besides bug fixes such as the engine pinging (which is still there in 2010, just much reduced), the 2010 also has much more weighted steering and updated suspension dampening which makes the car firmer but more composed on the highway. The car drives completely different, almost like its not the same car. But as an owner of both 2009 and a 2010, if you like a less German, more Japanese/American feel I'd go with the 2009. Still a great car.

Thanks. So the suspension changes are for the I4 too?

I'm definitely leaning towards the 2010. Just want to make an informed decision!

I'd definitely go for the 2010 to avoid a first year model, not to mention the suspension and other changes.

See what the price difference is, and how important that is to you Your dealer might be willing to cut you a great deal to get the '09 off his lot.

Not to discount ctwickman's experience, are there any official suspension changes for the 4-cyl 2010 TSX?? From my understanding, the suspension changes are only for V6 TSX...and the changes are mainly to account for the heavier nose with no changes to the rear suspension.

You would think that IF there are changes (refinement) to the suspension, then Acura press release would be all over it! Acura has never been shy about boasting changes from year to year. Why would they not mention the retune suspension??

And according to R&T V6 TSX test, the 2010 TSX V6 does not particularly slalom better nor brake better than the '09 TSX 4-banger.

I was at the dealer over the weekend and wandered off into the backlot where they stage cars for the pre-delivery routine. I saw V6's and I4's parked next to each other and the V6's ride height is noticable taller (about 3/4 inch?) probably due to the revised suspension. as for the front end, the V6's have vents next to the foglights where the I4's just have a cover plate. I didnt get a chance to drive a V6 tho

I sure would like to cut out those cutouts and get my hands on those brake cooling ducts. Quack quack.

slight difference in height maybe due tires. 225/45/18 exactly matches 225/50/17. 235/45/18 will be larger diam. V6 has two feet larger turn radius.

The sport bumper instructions state that you have to remove the induction plates from the old bumper to the new, could it be that the induction plates are there just hiding behind the fog light cover? Issue date on the document was April 2008

Booyah thunderbt! So...for those who've installed their sport bumpers or installed CAI's, are there induction plates of some description hiding there?

When i checked them out at the dealer, all it looked like they did was funnel more air to the radiator. I'll see if I can grab a pic of the exploded view.
