2009 Vortex Blue Pearl

yeah, seen them already.
I think it looks terrible.

the door handles, the fender flares, the cheap plastic fogs, that grille....
those headlights won't ever look good with angel eyes, and they bulge out.

it's fat, bloated, the rims are disgusting and personally I hate the new interior.
I think they cheapened it even more than the one I have.
Acura is in love with cheap plastic.

I see now the complaints about the rear end too.

In no way, shape or form is the car sexy to me.

When I walk out of a store or whatever, and see my car sitting there, I really,
really like how it looks. It really makes a statement, however subtle it is.
There's always people looking at it and turning their heads...
I don't see any of that with this car...

These are the most honest of the pictures we've seen yet.
And they honestly show the ugliness of the car.

Thanks for these pics - I am starting to get used to the new look and appreciating it more daily! Regarding these shots, is it strange to see black leather seats with a tan rear shelf? (sorry, not sure what the technical term for that is!)

Hadn't noticed the side mirrors (with new, improved, smaller turn signals lights before. That little itty bitty light now looks rather ... silly.

Looks ... like a Honda. I bought the TSX precisely BECAUSE I didn't want "yet another Accord." The TSX is just another Accord.

And why are the lower half of the side mirors black?

I'd imagine that looks awkward on a White or light color.

They're not. The first photo looks like it, but check out the next one and the last photo. The mirrors just have a sharp angle in them, and the bottom has some sort of lighting / reflection trick going on. They aren't black, they're the same color through.

Surely that is just an illusion.?. Then again, I wish the engine numbers were illusions as well.

BTW, just signed up for a Bimmer online forum in anticipation of my next purchase.

Wow. Looking at that and lining up the lines on the blue one... it now seriously seems to me the bottoms on the blue one are black too.

Why would they do that? It looks ridiculous to me! They made so many stupid decisions on the design of this car.

I was just looking over there too.

Not a big deal but would it have killed them to paint it.

I don't like it, Acura is keeping up with its competition and copying the bulkier models. I like the 1st Gens so much because of its sleek yet elegant design. I among alot of people here will be keeping our 1st gens for quite a while

Good catch, I don't think that's proper at all.

Are you sure they're black? Looks like a trick of the lighting (taken in bright, direct overhead sunlight).

Woah, sheesh, you could be right. But look at this one:

Here and here and (oh gawd, shield your eyes from that honeycomb grill abomination) here .

Here's your blue car (in Geneva) with the two-tone mirror treatment here and here.

There are some aspects of the car I like, but that square brick grill pattern is STUPID! The sunlight shining on the grill in that picture really accentuates the poor design. It looks cheap, period.

Compare it with this lower mesh. The metalic hexagon design looks much more upscale. The TSX mesh just looks like a giant plastic cheese grater.

I personally think that after 4 years of seeing the TSX look one way they are primed to be negative toward a change in what we already loved...

I have my reservations about the exterior. It has its goods and bads but what car doesn't?

I plan on getting a 2009 next spring toward the end of the model year when my 2005 is pushing 90K miles. I love the interior and have fallen in love with the amount of gadgets for the price... I've priced other luxury brands like Lexus, BMW, Mercedes etc. and you won't find the number of gadgets in them for less then 38-40K and here you can get the TSX loaded for 32K...

I believe overall it is an improvement in the car and seeing the live pics in blue just makes me want it even more cause I have a soft spot for the blue pearl of my own TSX.

I can't wait to test drive it when it comes out, my dealer already has me on a list to call me to come in to drive it...

Are you serious? The mirrors look black in all 3 links you posted.

All the pics over at TOV show black so I'm not quite sure what your point is.

You misunderstood me. I'm agreeing. The links I posted all show clearly a two-tone mirror.

I noticed that too and do not like the way it looks. I am wondering if it has to do with reflections on the rear window or if Acura did some cost cutting.

You would think they would use a black parcel shelf to match the black on the top of the dash board. It would be a more attractive and cohesive in appearance.

It is going to look horrible with the black on black color combo.

The TSX looks pretty cool. It does have a somewhat bloated look at the 3/4 stance. Kind of, dare I say, a Lexus ES350...

Overall, for a car with good gas mileage and with oil at $113 gallon/barrel, this car is not too bad. It has me thinking....should I trade my 05 RL for this? hmmmm

For $32K loaded, its not too shabby...

I agreee....

I hope it's okay to post links in here, I'm not familiar with all the rules yet, so I apologize if this isn't cool....

Here's a picture I found of the black on black version. It looks better than I imagined it might, even though the shelf is tan. Possibly because the black seats at least match the black car so the tan itself is contrast? In the case of the blue car, it's black seats, tan shelf, and blue car....so with silver, black seats, and tan shelf, it might look just as bad?

I think it looks good overall. The only things I am not a big fan of:

- Grill
- Interior layout. I like how the current TSX has simple clean layout of everything. The 09s seem too busy with too many buttons cluttered in the same space.

You have a good point - although I can't really tell. All the other pictures make it hard to tell, and this one has enough light that it could possibly be black?

Here's another example of the tan back shelf/ebony leather, this time in a silver model.

These are taken from http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2...close-tsx.html

Maybe it's to reflect light out and not get the inside hot? What color's the headliner, interior A pillars and B pillars in these?

These pics taken in the context of other cars make the car look extremely cartoonish and awkward. The door handles look Jetsons, the headlights and front end are comicly large, the fog light assembly looks like it came off a running show, and it realy shows off how unusualy steep the beltline is.

When I see these pics I think Camry 100%, I don't see any hint that it's supposed to be a sports sedan. The wheels say soft grocery getter or Mazda 3 at best.

The worst thing about the grill is that the emblem is not ultimately centered, it says "I'm embaraced to be an Acura, I'll hide up here." Even the cheapest makes of cars have a grill with a prominantly centered emblem that says "damn right this a Hyundai."

I'm not sure - I can't really tell...but I would imagine they match the back shelf, which makes sense. Thinking about it, I guess it's not that uncommon. It just appears strange when I see it? I can always go for a light color leather, if that's the biggest problem I have with it!!!
