09 tsx transmission question
Just curious how smooth are the tsx transmission? can you feel the it shift? Basicly i got a demo car and been feeling like i got rip off, i can feel the transmission shift. The last new vehicle that i own was CVT so i don't know what to think...

Well coming from a CVT I don't think you will be used to a regular auto. Are the TSX's shifts smooth? Yes. Can I still feel them and know when they are happening? Yes, just like I could/can w/ all of Honda's transmissions to date. And that is not a bad thing at all in my book, as I like to be "in tune" w/ the car and know what it is doing at all times.
Without knowing/seeing the car I can't say for sure of course, but I doubt you got ripped off on the demo car. I too purchased a demo car and I found it to be very well taken care of, in fact in some cases probably more taken care of than a regular owner's car. I mean hey, how many cars get looked at by the service dept. almost after each and every trip?!?

been lurking around on here, u got me beat on the price tho but i got a free wii
maybe i'm just paranoid, cause i tested drove an new accord before and i thought it was pretty smooth, but that was a long time ago.
Also how light is the steering wheel at low speed like a parking lot? i thought i've read somewhere that it's lighter for the tsx

ummmm im pretty sure everyone will agree with me that the 6spd has one of the smoothest transmissions...its amazing really. im not saying this just cause I have one....it honestly is super smooth. but are you talkin about the 6spd or 5spd?

the manual transmission is super smooth, its the same that is on the Civic Si I believe, its amazing.
The automatic can be a bit jerky when you first get it, but it gets better. I dont feel it shift in normal driving but you will feel it if you stomp on the right pedal. Its still smoother than most other auto's i've driven.
<--- manual transmission guy with his first auto ever.

Hondas have excellent transmission programming, but the shift quality is very poor. To be more accurate, the shift quality starts out OK but degrades very quickly due to the unstable frictional properties of the ATF-Z1 fluid.

Honda automatics with their current setup will never shift as quickly or smoothly as a conventional automatic with clutch-to-clutch operation.
