wheel sizing?? help wanted
wheel sizing?? help wanted
hey i have a 02 silver tl and i wandering what size rims i should get... either 18s or 19s? also if i was to get rims how far would yall recomend to drop the car if i just wanted to reduec the fender gap a little? and last i could use some suggestions for rims styles, brands etc...im looking at polished finish, im game for any other suggestions thanks.
well my personal preference is the lower the better, and i'd rather go lower on a set of flush-fitting 18's vs. tucking too easily 19's.
but tha's just me... others have their preferences and it really depends on what look you like.
if you wanna reduce the fender gap just a bit, the common choice around here seems to be H&R sport springs model 50103.... paired with a good set of shocks. tein also makes a couple different sets of springs you could look into...
or pick up a nice set of coilovers and adjust the height to exactly whatever you want. although of course the price is gonna be higher.
as far as suggestions for rims... man the possibilities are endless. i could tell you to rock some 19x8.5 19x9.5 work VS-XX 3pc's but do you have $4k to spend on wheels and tires sitting around??

18s are a good compromise of looks / value / ride comfort. If Kansas is anything like Michigan on road conditions due to 4 seasons, definitely get 18s unless you want bent rims.
Be sure to use the tire guide at the top post in this subforum -- it will answer a lot of questions.

lotta people run H&R sport springs.. they're way too high for my personal taste, but then again i dont have snow to deal with.
like i say, pick up the coilovers and you can go low in the summer, ride high during snow time
