what's the consensus on these??
Greetings everyone...been awhile since I posted anything. Thinking about a new set of tires and rims for the winter here in NYC. Had some discouraging opinions on the summer wheels so I thought I'd get some opinions first. Live and learn..even at my age...here's the link...lets have some feed back, please...also, is offset of 50 OK?...and what's that blurb about ET50 blah, blah, blah...8" is aggressive fit??...and winter tires here in NYC?.. thanx all

2nd one is better. It shows it has a +42 offset which will require at minimum trimming of tabs and a possible roll of fenders.
If these are for winter tires, go with a 7" or so wheel there is no need for a 8" for a snow tire. The wider the tire the worse traction.

You want to get nice rims for winter?
Skinnier is better. 6.5" steel rims are fine ($55 each). If you want alloy rims, the Sport Edition CD (16") is fine at $85 each (I like the mesh look).
Add a set of Bridgestone Blizzak WS70 (new for 2010) @ 205/60/16 for $95 each ($380 for a set), and you're looking at a set of steel rims + great winter tires for $600 (alloys + tires for $720). That is a fantastic deal.
The 18" Nokian WR-G2 for my G37 cost me over $1200 alone (taxes in). I also had to get 18" rims to clear the BBK that are stock on the sport model. (I miss how cheap it used to be to own my Acura ...)

The Blizzack tires are the best for any kind of winter driving..Ive bought that brand for...oh about 16 years now and they do go thru the snow..they make you feel safe in the snow also...which is what they are supposed to do..enuff..I'm starting to ramble..getting tired.
