Question tire fitment on 18x8.5

Hey guys just got a question about tire fitting on my rims. I got 18x8.5 +43 and they're rubbing after I lowered my car 2.5 inches. I tried rolling the fender with some house tools that I had, but it's not good enough. Would 215/35/18 be able to fit with a stretch? I think I saw somebody with 215 width tires on a 8.5 width rim before somewhere on here. Thanks!

I can't answer for sure, but read the will this fit thread.

in the first post they list the acceptable ranges for each rim size

I think the 8.5 is a bit too wide

+26??? My +50s sit like that on the front. If i had a +26 that thing would stick out of my wheel well by a inch

I would also suggest 215/40/18 over 215/35/18. That tire is going too look way too small. I'm running 225/40/18 on an 8.5" wheel and the stretch is nothing significant; you will be fine running a 215 tire.

cool. thanks for the help guys. i think i'm gona go with 215/40/18. my current tires are 245/40/18! i know...but it pretty much came free with the rims that i bought. i'm trying to dismount them during the winter while my stockies are back on anyway, and sell the tires to get the 215/40/18. thanks again.
