Time to do it

Well after all of the steps and figuring out what is wrong with my car I narrowed it down to the struts...the car is not stable at high way speeds of 80, it shimmies and has the floating sensation.

The car has 49k on it and when I do the bounce test it's really stiff but as some of you said on the forum it's because of our springs.

Well I want to get some tokiko illuminas....if I set these to 3 will it have the comfort and smoothness as stock? Also will it last longer than out stock struts?

How come these stock struts got blown out so quickly? I know guys who have 120k on there accord and they are still on original struts.

Thanks guys

I had nearly 90k on my stock ones and about 20k of that was with the Comptech springs and they were just starting to go bad. I dont think yours are bad, just to soft for you - that will cause the "floating" you are talking about on the highway.

Stock should last longer than 49k. Mine didnt start wearing out till the 150s, and most dont untill around 100k.

You can't go wrong with Illumina shocks. If you are concerned of comfort, set it to 2, that is the beauty of Illumina. You can go with comfort or performance by just turning the switch. My OEM shocks lasted 45K. After removing and inspecting them , the OEM shocks can be pushed down hard (making the ride rough), and they don't come backup (caused leaning and bad tires wear). Replace them, you won't regret. Tokico is better and lifetime warranty; so why worry how long it will last. they will be better than oem for sure.
