thinking bout dropping
thinking bout dropping
i seen the other forums i was just wonder which springs is the best choice would have the best ride quality cause i planning on going with 20"s for my car i dont want to be dropped too low i want just enough to have the aggresive look and to ride good thanks
first of all i'll the be first one to tell you DON'T GO WITH 20'S!!!!!!! they are way too big for our cars and if you're gonna drop, you'll rub and it does not look right. the biggest i would go are 19's. it fills the wheel well perfectly and still perform like it should. if anything, go with coilovers so you can adjust height anytime. if you're for sure set on springs and shocks, do a search. this topic has been beaten to death and you'll come up with tons of hits.
20's don't go to well like wat the past two posts said. (unless u wanna be like them 808 guys
) go with 19's or even 18's. it wouldn't kill the looks of your car if u go with 18's. it will be nice and aggressive depending on wat wheel you choose and many people have different setups for dropping. I, however, will go with Tien SS but u can go with Tien basics for jus a drop (coilovers) but if too expensive. go with some springs like Tien or H&R or others but make sure u get some shocks while your at it. honestly, jus go through all the pages on the Tires, Wheels and Suspension page and you'll find all your answers. go check out the member pictures for examples. Easy as pie
For .5 to 1.0 inch drop go with Tein S-tech spring kit on your stock shocks.
Good ride and slight drop that wont sag after 6 months
See our sponsoring vendors MrHeelToe and Excelerate for info, both are authorized Tein dealers.
Or do it right and get Tein SS coilovers. Yes basics are good- and well, basic. Preset for sporty ride all the time.
The SS allows easy adjustment of the ride firmness from softer than OE, to too firm for even the race track. Of 16 settings for firmess , I have yet to use higher than 12.
It sure is nice to be able to click a tool and in a few seconds completely change the cars handling and comfort level- for the few hundred dollars more than the basics-
when going to do something right- do it all the way right

If you're going to get that large of a rim I would recommend either the TEIN High Tech's or Tanabe NF210s with TOKICO HP's. That setup will run you about $500 and get you a slightly sportier ride with a good shock to handle the lowering spring.

Make sure you get some curb feelers cause with the tires you'll have to run on 20s you'll have absolutely zero protection from curbs, potholes, rocks in the road, small animals.......
