Tein SS coils installation..

Hi,

I just received the coils today, and found something a bit weird..
the spring does not sit perfectly on the perch, rather it kindda plays around ; the diameter of bottom of spring is longer than that of the perch. Those of you with the tein, is this normal or did I get worng parts?

thanks

Yeah, it will look like that, but it's fine. Had me stumped for a few minutes, too.

ok....one more question.
when adjusting the height, do I need to jack the car up all the way or could I just turn the perch while the spring is tightly sitting on the perch..?
thanks

You'll have to jack the car anyways since you'll have to take your wheel out.

It will be much harder without the car jacked up.

Take off the wheel and jack it up 'til the spring is loose. It'll make it easier.

you can just jack it up til you get the spring loose.. then u can stick your hand in and the adjust it.. no need to take the tire off (it might be different if u have 19s)

It's a lot easier with the wheels off. It's just 5 lugs; don't be lazy.

To make the car sit evenly and properly, you will have to make sure you have the height correctly between left and right. This is a lot easier with the wheels off.

I measured mine exact left/right front and my front right is 1/4inch higher.

1. Make sure the ground is completely even. Like, really really even.
2. Our cars just naturally sit a little uneven even if the suspension is setup evenly all around. For example, when I had my H&R spring, which obviously have nothing to do with height adjustability, my car sat a little lower on one side than the other.
3. The best thing to do is get the car corner-weighted.

I look at my car everywhere, I mean anywhere I park I look at the drop and always the front right is higher. Even the guy who did my alignment said so. I'll just drop that side more by a 1/4 inch.
