tein ss clunk noise solution
hey guys , i had the clunk noise too with my tein ss , i just got it solved last night ,i used the spring isolators from my original springs + found two extras from my friends shop, on the front springs a wrapped the upper and lower of the springs, and the rear springs i wrapped the upper part of the springs with 1 isolator ,and the lower part i cut 1 isolator in half to wrap the smaller diameter of the spring, i glued them in with weather strip adhesive which dries fast , all in total 7 isolators where used , and did this with the springs on the car ,just jack up 1 corner at a time ,test drove the car last night and this morning ,it worked ,very HAPPY now , hope this makes sense , and hope this help's others ...danny...

It makes no sense at all actually. You should not need these. In over 2 dozen installs we have never had an issue with clunking noises that were not due to improper installation.
How low is your car?

You guys, the springs would not make a clunking noise unless they are improperly seated. A sping simply compressing would not make a clunk unless it became COMPLETELY compressed and all coils came together at once. And that would never happen on a car. Even under full compression, the shocks would bottom out before the spring coils came in contact.
Spring isolators are only used on progressive springs where some coils are softer than others and they do come in contact before the spring is fully compressed. Teins come with linear springs so installing isolators will not do any good.
They might clang, or twang, or maybe even sqeak from rubbing in the seats...but clunking, even if unseated, is not a spring sound. In the end, ANY sound from the suspension is 99% sure due to improper installation. A clunk happens when a part has play from being loose and knocks around.
