struts / belt job kicks powersteering ?
01 TL (180k) just went in for front struts and a few belts, apparently one of the belts was the one that goes around the power steering wheel, after picking up the car and taking it for a short drive, notice a much louder noise under the hood.
Further investigation pinpointed the noise to be originating from the power steering pump, mostly noticeable when turning the wheel. Mechanic took a quick look, reset a few bolts that holds the PS pump, which made noise go away, but then came back after he retighted the pump bolts. His recommendation was to cycle the PS fluid drive it for a day see if it goes away.
Ok, driving the car for a day now you can feel a vibration in the steering on right turns, among a new loud noise coming from the pump. clearly the car is not in the same condition as when it was dropped off.
After speaking with mechanic, his response is, "we didn't touch anything in there". Replaced the struts and a belt.
Looking for feedback if this could be a chain reaction or maybe the PS pump was going, or maybe he goofed... I recall mechanic saying something about changing the belt was a pain, could that of caused trouble for the PS pump? Any case the car is going back today... Looking for feedback how to handle the situation, known mechanic for few years who was refereed by a good friend. On the flip side, is replacing the PS pump an easy fix or can I be looking at a bigger problem?

Our pumps are very sensitive (apparently) to over tightening. It kinda sounds like the mechanic over tightened the pump damaging the bearings
