Question about new suspension setup

I have a 2003 TL-S with 86k miles and in the past year it seems the driver side especially the rear sits slightly lower than the passenger side rear by like 1/2 finger. It also seemed that the back was sagging more than it was 5 years ago.

Over the years, I put on 225/50/17s on so I figured that accounted for 1/4" but it still looked kinda low.

I figured the shocks or the springs were about done since I live in NYC where there are bumps and potholes almost every where. I ended up getting the Tokico Illuminas and H&R OE Springs for a very slight drop and dampening adjustability.

Now that I have the new shocks and springs on, it appears the back got lowered by another finger and the front looks good. It appears the back is lower than I expected it to be. H&R OE is supposed to give a .5" in the rear and .75" in the front.

Anyone have pictures of their TL with this set up with either 225/50/17 or 215/50/17?

Thanks.

I'll post some pictures soon... it took about 5 hours but I was able to do it myself in the freezing cold.

Btw, what is a good setting for the Illuminas? I currently have it set to 2 for the fronts and 3 in the rear.

Anyone know if this is looks too low for these springs?

During the weekend I found a couple of stock TL-S where it appears they had about 2.5 inches as a gap and currently I have just about a .75 inch gap and with the .25 inch difference in tire size that should be a 1 inch gap making it a 1.5" drop from other TL-S that appear to have stock suspension to tokico illuminas and H&R OE Springs (H&R OE Sport Springs HR 99-01 00 Acura TL V6 51858-55 from eBay)

The part number for a 98 V6 Accord is 51858-55 and it is also the same for the TL 99-01 as per H&R's website.

I recall when I had did the research, that a few years back there was some issues with the springs because the TL was heavier in the back than the V6 Accord but I thought it has been a while and the issue was resolved. I had just bought the springs a few weeks back with the part number 51858-55.

Did I get the right part? It appears I did according to H&R's website since the springs for the TL 99-01 is good for a TL-S 02-03 correct?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

That is exactly my thoughts but I couldn't find any pictures to compare it to or figure out why it may be so low. The springs are gray, so they should be the OEs. Out of the driveways at work, sometimes I end up scraping the exhaust tip with just me in the car.

Your back looks as low as mine, and I'm running H&R Sports on 235/45-17's.

its all that junk in your trunk.. =) take all the crap out and see what happens...

i was thinking worn suspension bushings.. but it shouldnt cause that much of a difference in the back.. and if there was a bushing worn or torn in the back.. you should notice that the car drives differently...

a friend at work, his son's car is a 99 accord v6 coupe.. i asked him to check his son's car out in the rear to see if there is anything back there, that he thinks might affect the ride height...

one other thing.. did you notice any ride height issues after you installed the rear sway??

check for abnormal tire wear in the back.. if this is not happening.. its high unlikely anything in the back is bent or anything is worn too bad cause your tires should be one of the first things to see it...

There is no more junk except 40lbs of a box+sub

I checked again and on the springs it lists the right model as well as the box that it was shipped in.

After I put the sway bar back today, no change in height. About 1000 miles and no apparent abnormal tire wear.

I checked several times and they sent me the H&R OE... the height difference of 1.5" drop in the rear does appear to be the H&R Sports, but those springs are black right?

I just checked - they're really dirty because of all the snow and rain dirt on them, but mine do look black...

Thanks for checking.

Anyone have any ideas why it looks as if it has a 1.5" drop instead of the expected .5" drop?

Probably did but there has to be some reason there is such a big drop compared to what is expected.

The only thing I could think of is that the springs are wrong
