Exclamation Problems with new tires

I lowered my car with eibach springs and konico suspension, about 2" front and 1.6"rear, also put 18x7.5 wheels.

Now, they guy at the tire shop installed 235/45/18, also tried the 215/35/18 and they all rubbed, I asked him to just install and leave the 225/40/18, because they are going to rub anyway, now:

is that a big issue?, will it damage the tire?, should I shave the tabs?, if so, how?

Thanks and regards everyone,

You should've read this thread before buying your tires and wheels:

https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/01-cl-s-stuff-sale-121066/

The 235/45-18s are probably a bit big for that wheel, which would cause some rubbing when you're dropped, but the 215/35-18s are much smaller than the stock tire size. The 225/40-18s are the closest to stock tire size.

From 1010tires.com:

215/50-17 (stock TL-S tire)
Overall Diameter: 25.46 in

235/45-18
Overall Diameter: 26.32 in <- might rub

215/35-18
Overall Diameter: 23.92 in <- way too small, so shouldn't rub if wheels have right offset

225/40-18
Overall Diameter: 25.08 in <- closest to stock tire size

If the 225/40-18's still rub, I would think that the problem with rubbing is you have the wrong offset on your new wheels. Do you know what the offset on the wheels is?

Well if the offset is that off that a 215 rubbed no matter what you do it will most likely rub. You may want to look into different rims with the right offset. Or maybe find a shop that can roll fenders to see if that will help

Thumbs up Ok, problem solved !

The guy just put spacers and there is no or minimal rubbing only when turning and bumping at the same time.

Thank you all.

How did putting spacers on help the rubbing? If you were rubbing your tirs were out too far. Putting spacers on would only push them out further.

He didn't put spacers, he make the the suspension just a bit higher by adding some rubber pieces on the springs, and that helped.

Sometimes it rubs a litlle bit on the driver side but I m going to shave that part a little bit, I just don't know how much, can anyone tell me how much?

Thanks,
