Off-set questions

Hi..
I tried search engine to find an answer, but it wasn't easy.
Would 17 x 7.0 with +43 offset fit perfectly without sticking out of body?
I want tucked in look..
Also, how about 19 x 7.5 with +41 offset?
thanks a lot in advance.

Both of them will extend further than your stock setup, but the 17x7 will be relatively more tucked in.

17x7 ET43

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 6mm MORE
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 18mm

19x7.5 ET41

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 1mm MORE
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 27mm

Assuming 6.5 ET55 setup.

Take that!

Ahh yes, an excessively-technical answer that the average American would not comprehend, that's more like it!

So, 17x7 will tuck in, but not 19x7.5?

Well I had 18X7.5 +43 and had to shave the rear tab if it helps. After that no probs.

17x7 will be relatively more tucked in than the 19x7.5, but it will still stick out more than the stock setup. Then again, the stock setup is so tucked in that you could afford to have them extend out a bit. It will provide better stability, anyway.

Hey,
So, the number of offset goes up, it sticks out more?

Hmm...
Thanks for help, guys...
Generally, if you were to get a set of 19 inch wheels, what offset would you get? to have them not stick outside of body? I'm running on a stock springs with tokico blues, but I'm looking to get a set of Tein SS soon or Tein H tech springs. I assume that they won't rub, but if they stick out, they probably will, right?

Diameter is not as important as width. Max should be 8" +50 offset minimum. This applies to ALL diameters (16" to 19").

The higher the number, the more tucked in it is. In other words, given everything else the same, 55 offset will be more tucked in than 45 offset.

Agreed. Remember the stock offset is +55. the lower you go the more its going to push outward. width plays a large roll in what offset to use. if you ask me +43 is cutting it too close. try finding something higher

What kind of drop? If it's not too low, then it'll work just fine.

I understand that I need offset of minimum +50, but how about this?
19 x 8 with +43 offset?
I will be lowering my TL with tein SS or Tein H-tech soon. Will they rub?

If you understand you need +50, how in the world is +43 gonna work?

hehe..
Now, I became an idiot..
Now I understand how off-set relates to wheels sticking out or going in.
One last question.. What is the maximum number that I should not exceed to go over?
I'm looking at 19 x 7.5 and 19 x 8.5 with offset +53?
I guess they should be fine, right?
