New Yokohama YK520's put on today

Well, after debating whether or not to get new rims for my TL, I decided to keep my factory look since I have stock chrome 17's and just get new tires.

I was going to go with the Yoke Avid V4S or H4S but since they are directional style tires and can't be rotated to all 4 corners, I decided to go with the YK520's which are non directional

First off, these tires are amazing! They are so quiet, I couldn't believe I was going 70mph. I am really impressed so far. My Michelins lasted about 51000 miles on my H&R sports, but I am very good with rotations every 6000 miles and alignments every 6 months since I got a hook up for that. But, my Michelins started making my car pull to the right and getting that humming noise as the tread on the edges was wearing down.

My alignment specs are good and no camber kit is needed, so I will make sure to rotate my tires to all four corners now vs just front to back, back to front, etc.

If you are looking for tires and you are not into racing or extremely hard driving, I would recommend the Yokohama YK520's from Discount Tire. I decided on going with the stock 215/50 size to avoid any potential dealer issues with my tranny should it fail again. I'm on my 2nd tranny, so we'll see how long it lasts. At least they can't talk junk about me having bigger tires, even though legally it doesn't matter. Plus, my car is already lowered, so going to a 225/50 wouldn't really benefit me at all for fender gap concealment.

I'll give an update soon after I go on a 2000 mile road trip later this month. But for the 40 miles I did today after getting them put on, all I can say is WOW.

Well, did the road trip and these tires are without a doubt one of my favorites that I have ever owned. Very, very quiet and they drove through rain like nothing I have ever owned. The big test will be light snow.

I recommend them, but they may not be for everyone since they are not designed for super hard driving and racing. They are plenty good for cornering, ride comfort, highway driving and the occasional red light challenges.
