Need new all season tires

My Yoko's are starting to get kinda low plus there showing cracking around the edges of the tread which is never good. I also think they may be the cause of my slight vibration at highway speeds. I was on tire rack and noticed good reviews on the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position with UNI-T AQ II Technology. Anyone else run these tires or have expierence with them? Also should I run 215's or 225"s? Its on a 03 TL-S

I'll check those out. What do you think of those Hunter road force balancing machines? Shop up the road uses one that also has something caled StraightTrak which aparently "eliminates tire-related pull problems by balancing lateral forces on the front axle".

So whats your opinion on the 215's vs 225's?

Also check the Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdges. I have them, and they are great.

^I don't know how they will do in the snow. The tread doesn't look that good for snow. The ResponsEdge is more of a "true" all-season tire.

They are designed for all season use. The tread on the F1 looks better suited to all season than the response edge (plus the response edge has a pretty low rating in the snow) i could be wrong in how it handles in the snow though
The F1 is getting pretty good reviews so far but its kinda early to tell the snow ability

Response

^I retract my previous statement. I must have seen the tread of a different tire thinking it was the F1 All Season. That does look like a very good tread pattern. Goodyear's own ratings give the F1 All Season 1 point higher for snow traction than the ResponsEdges. I'll definitely look into these for my next set of tires (although by that time, something better may have come out.

I've got an '02 TL-S. Just got the 960AS a couple months ago. You won't go wrong with 'em.

Truth is, from what I've seen and read, the BS 960AS, the GY F1 AS and the Yoko Advan S.4 will all do you well - similar performance and in the same general price catagory.

I am leaning strongly toward the GY F1 AS when the MXM4's on my '07 TL-S are used up.

Check out these Tire Rack Test Results:

Our '02 was a little "wobbley" and needed an alignment. So we did get the Road Force Balacning. Just to make sure we had no issues. $10 extra per corner and IMO worth it.

Total cost was the same as the Firestone/Bridgestone store offered without Road Force Balancing.

I got the 215. I actually had ordered the 225, but had some reservations about looks. Then Tire Rack called and said the OEM spec for Load was 93 XL. The 960 in a 225 did not come XL. Tire Rack said they'd be fine, the Load Rating was high enough not be a problem, but it gave me an "out" to go back to the OE size.

Here's a couple gratuitous pics of the '02 ( ):

You were maybe looking at the F1 GS-D3 (which comes with a Do Not drive in snow label) and also the best UHP Summer tire ive driven (longest lasting too)

Don't think you can go wrong with any of these tires. I guess you have Avid V4S now? You might look at the Yoko Avid W4S which is the same tread design as V4S but a higher speed rating and an Ultra High Performance tire. They are new so not many reviews. Good luck and let us know how it all turns out when the dust settles (metaphor intended)...

I am currently running 225/50 17 Michelin Pilot A/S on my '02 TLS with stock rims. I have had them for about 3 years and will be replacing them in the next couple of months with the Bridgestone RE960 225/50.

Based on everything I've seen or read you won't go wrong with the RE960.

I'm looking for a set of new tires as well. I'm not so sure about Good Year, but this tires seem to be pretty good. I had a set of BF Goodrich Scorchers and they were EXTREMELY HORRIBLE! Check these tires out and what do you all think?

My avids cracked really bad too. I rotated them like your supposed to and the front passenger tire started just cracking really bad. I went with Potenzas and overall they are just way better tires.
