Konig Prophet Opal 2000 TL Advice Needed

Hello all,

A friend of mine has these rims:
http://www.konigwheels.com/catalog_p...ID=1&ss_id=287

in a 18x7.5 size.

He has put them on an 2002 S-type TL and they fit fine. Does anyone know if they would fit on my 2000 TL? Do I need to watch out for anything?

Are Konig rims any good? He wants 400 bucks for all 4 including tires. (They are sitting in storage not being used). Should I jump on this? Advice Needed.

I bent three of those the exact same size. I tried to fix them but the repair shop said they are unrepairable b/c the centercore was bent up (not obvious if you look at it). I just bought another one for $173 shipped. You'll have to cut the tabs in the back or roll them b/c they will rub against your rear fenders a bit. I have 225/40/18 toyo FZ4's. I personally think if your roads are shit like NYC, don't get them. I bought another b/c all I needed was one. Take the wheels to a tire shop and see if it will balance correctly to make sure that they are not bent in the centercore. Make sure you use the hubcentric rings!!!!!!!

Read thread above. Konig is a poorly made wheel. My personal opinion is to save us some more money and buy a better forged wheel (SSR, Racing Hart, etc)

FYI - I just wanted to let you know that I hit lots of pot holes really bad. One going 80 mph on Rt 80 South middle lane. The dealer didn't put back the hubcentric rings when thay supposedly balanced my wheels. I think that was why the centercore was all bent up. The hubcentric that comes with the wheels doesn't fit nice and snug so I'm gonna put a layer of tape of teflon to make it snug.

Thanks for all the advice. I'll have to talk to the guy more about these rims and maybe a tire shop or two.

A small update. I ended up getting these from my friend and we put them on tonite. Everything seems fine. The ride quality doesn't seem to be affected at all. The only thing I am noticing is a little bit more noise coming from the tires, but perhaps it's me. First set of rims for me so I'm a little paranoid as to something going wrong. There is no problem with them rubbing in the rear (that I'm aware of). Do bigger rims/tires usually produce more noise on the road? Note: it's not a lot of noise, maybe 5-10db difference, if that.
