Help!~ 2003 Type s rim interchangeability

I recently bought a 2003 CL type S that is now equipped with 18" rims. I want to add a new set of wheels and tires for winter use. My questions are:

1. Could I use 16" or must I stay with originial equipment? OEM rims are 17X7".

2. What other year Acura rims are compatible? I believe, but am not sure, the bolt pattern is 114.3 x 5 with a 55 offset. For example, Ebay has an auction for a set of 02 and 04 rims and tires--both 17"

3. I assume 2003 CL and TL Type S came with same rims and tires.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
thanks
John

CL-S equipped with 17x7 +55.
TL-S equipped with 17x6.5 +55
Both 5x114.3

'04 equipped with 17x8 +45...not the idea fitment for your CL-S.

Thank you for information

Could I get by with 16" rim from a standard 01-03 TL for winter use or must I look only for TLS or CLS 17" rims?

16" from a TL/CL will work. You can also use late model V6 Accord 16's as well - that is what I'm using for snowies.

Those would be perfect. Looks like they are in pretty good condition too.

it is never that easy!

2000 has same offset and bolt pattern as my 03? and 16" will fit. There must be bad news lurking here somewhere!

Like I said, they are perfect. I'd jump on them if I were you.

One of the premier wheel resellers on EBAY indicates the O4 wheels will work on an OS cls even though the specs seem very different.
O3
17x7--55 offset

O4
17x8 45 offset

I was curious as to whether anybody had actually tried this and if so how it worked? Despite indications they will fit is this still a bad idea?
thanks

Go with 16 inch Acura/Honda wheels or even steel wheels. 17 inch snow tires are expensive and are generally speed rated which have slightly less grip in the winter.

p.s. i'm not a big fan of ws-50. once the rubber studs wear out they suck so they become all season tires after 1.5 winters
