I've had H&R OE Sports w/ Bilsteins for a couple years now and I love this setup. You'll be happy with yours.

Do the Bilsteins feel better as far as dampening, compared to the Tockico Blues?

I hear Bilsteins are better than the tokico blues and the koni yellows.
dont forget they are more expensive but they do have a lifetime warranty which is really good. I have read about different shocks on other forums and I have not heard one bad review about the Bilsteins.

Thanks man.
I spoke to TIM this morning from RAYLAKS he said it should be here in the next few days.
Also, ordered the blitzsafe for ipod and the hardwiring kit for x50.Pretty much spent a lot of money in the past few days. Next will be a spoiler and then will just save up for the next project.....

Bilstein are good enough for Porsche -- so I guess they're good enough for a TL? I went with Koni Yellows due to availability but would have no problems putting them on my car in the future.

Car sit slightly lower with bilsteins over the factory type-s struts? I remember back in the day when I had a 2nd gen teg upgrading struts would lower the stance a bit.

I have had Bilsteins on my street Camaro since 1992 - they are the best non adjustable shocks that you can buy. They are stiff, but not floaty like the Tokico Blues (which I have with the H&R Sports) - they do degrade the ride a bit.

They would be my first choice if all out performance was the goal - without the adjustability option.

I don't think Porsche could get away with KYBs on their $75K plus cars - at least they put something decent in.

I’m looking into the same set up, H&R’s with Bilstein shocks. Which Bilstein's did you guys buy? The “HD” or the “Sports”? Anyone know which one has more dampening (softer ride)?

Thanks for the help.

Sports is the one I bought. Heavy Duty doesn't make much of a difference I don't think.

Just ordered the H&Rs and the Bilstein sports. Does anyone know if the Bilsteins ship with the aluminum spring seats mentioned under "Equipment" in in this DIY: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=168436 ?

If not anyone got a part number on them?

I'm going with the same setup (H&R/Bilsteins) on my daily driven TL
Should I expect to be repairing these within 2 years or something? What are the STRONGEST springs/shocks money can buy for our car?

Bilsteins for TL-S

My understanding is the Bilsteins are nice shocks with lifetime warranties. What would they be expected to do for the ride and handling of a TL-S? How long do you think these should last with moderate driving? Are these one of the best first mods for this beastie?

No need to use bold

The ride is much more firm but that should be attributed to a combination springs and shocks. Personally I'm running H&R sports with Bilsteins, my first lowered setup. The ride is definitely stiffer and you can really "feel" the road but I find myself really enjoying it. As far as first mods go, sure why not, just grab some spring compressors and a few ratchets and give it a go... only a few hours if you've done shocks before but never worked on the TL suspension.
