would 19x9.5 +55 offset fit and with what modifications if possible. 225 tires of course

8.5" with +50 offset ... you will barely make it if you cut tabs / roll fenders with skinny tires.
9.5" with +55 offset (math: 1" = 25mm ... offset measured in millimeters)
So essentially you are going 20 wider (-25 mm rim + 5 mm offset) ... no way unless you plan on driving with negative camber (or a custom widebody kit)

thanks derrick, do you get sick of answering these questions. i'm just a bit tired of looking for the "right" set of wheels. i mean i have a good set up right now, but its so hard finding rims that will "fit".
anyways, here's another one. i know i know, it USUALLY doesn't fit, but i just have to ask.
19x8.5 +38
12mm from 50 (which is perfect supposedly). so it sticks out about 1/2 an inch than the "perfect" 8.5 set up. now here's my reasoning: a +50 with 225 or 235 with a no finger drop has to cut tabs. but the rim itself isn't perfectly aligned with the fender. meaning its still sitting "inside" a little bit. We go with this set up so our TIRES don't rub. i want the rim to be perfectly aligned with the fender, but don't want to go neg. camber. i don't mind raising the car to .5-1 finger... i don't mind running 225... MAYBE 215... but i hella don't want to run crazy camber.. no more than 1.5 or even 2 degrees. doable? tell me how much it would stick out using the fender as reference and how to fit it (cut tabs, roll fenders, etc).
thanks once again, i know u get these questions all the time, i hope u're not too fed up to help us out. stupid offsets for our cars =[

^ You'll have to ask the guys who are dropped to be 100% sure. One thing that is very important ... even though there are measurements on rims ... there is still variability among those measurement. :wtf: It's almost like women's clothing... what does a size 4 mean?
Anyway, with a 8.5" rim with +50 offset ... regardless of how thin your tire is, you will definitely have to cut tabs, and almost definitely have to roll fenders to make things "flush" with the body. Also ... what suspension are you using? You might want a stiffer setup along with thinner tires (215 or 225 wide) to minimize rebound / potential for rubbing.
I'm not a big fan of running negative camber. Anything beyond 1 degree ... you will start to see significant wear in a fairly short period of time. You'll have to rotate tires fairly often (at every oil change would be my advice ...)
Good luck. I'll be the first to admit I don't know the limits of how wide a rim you can go before running into trouble ...

Our TL/TLS come with 6.5" rims with +55 offset, made my Enkei. General rule (but not always the case since there is some variation among manufacturers):
7" rim = +42 offset
7.5" rim = +45 offset
8" rim = +48 offset
7" rim = +42 offset
7.5" rim = +45 offset
8" rim = +48 offset
If you are riding stock height, then get a 225/40/18 size tire to minimize need to cut tabs / roll fenders.

ill be on stock suspension for a while, but sooner or later im gonna drop it.. i read the first post, but i just wanted to know if it would be really bad or just slightly bad to have a lower offset by 3mm.. thanks though.
lippstuh, yeah i think ill probably just go ahead with them.. theyer the Enkei RPM2's if you wanna know.. lol

i plan on going the same size rims, but i will be dropped...close to no gap or 1 finger gap...what would u think the tire size should be? 225 or 235? 40 or 35?
thanks

235 is probably too wide with such a wide rim.
35 aspect is too thin ... you'll probably have problems finding tires that size ... and there are always issues with circumference and speedo calibration. (ie don't exceed +/- 3% of OEM tire circumference)

For another reference, I'm running 18x8 +48 offset 235/40/18 tires dropped on HR springs with 1.5degrees neg. camber. I haven't rolled my fenders, and I clear the inside lip by about 2mm.

07 type S rims and tires fit on 03 type S?
I know, I'm lazy and my brain power is low. I read through several pages in this thread and still I have one question I'm sure someone will be able to easily answer.
I have 03 type S with no suspension modifications. I bent 2 rims on a huge pothole a few days ago and all my tires need replacing. I found a guy selling his oem rims and tires from his 07 type S. specs are:
RIMS: diameter 17" offset 45 width 8J (does this mean 8"?)
TIRES: Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 235/45ZR17
Bolt pattern matches: 5 x 114.3
WILL THEY FIT?
Will I have any ABS problems or will my my drive ratio be affected since I currently have 215/50R17?

I think I answered my own question... 235's probably a bit too wide for my car with only a 45 offset.
The real issue is that they would probably look super STU-PID on my car!

235 is too wide with that offset.

Quick question.
I will be purchasing a set of rims soon after I sell the ones I currently own. The new wheels will be 18x8 45 offset. I have the Tein Basics for my 01 TL and I have it lowered all the way. I'm also buying some replacement springs to lower them about an inch more. I'm planning on tucking the top of the tire or maybe a little more. I already have a camber kit (front n back) and I rolled all four fenders. Now my question is, what size tire should I buy to make this work? I know it wont be perfect but I'm aware you need a certain size tire for going this low, depending on your wheels. I was thinking of getting 215/40? I currently have 225/40 on my rims but these are18x7.5, i'm not sure on what to get. Please help me out

Car is not currently dropped, but plan on a modest drop in the future......still ok?
Thanks!
