drop front only
I have a 2000 TL, and I only want to drop the front 1.5 inches. Are there any problems with replacing only the front shocks? Do any manufacturers sell only the front pair?

Don't think there's any problem replacing only the front. Check ebay some sellers sell only the front pair, but if i were you i'd replace all the shocks. As for the lowering...why not lower front and back? That way you even out the spring rate through out the whole car.

oh, I highly doubt that anyone will sell springs like that. Get a set of springs that will lower the car evenly like H&R sport. Even if you lower the front 1.5 inches the back will still be higher by a finger length. Cause I had the front lowered 1.5 inches cause i ran into a little problems installing the back. Overall, you should keep all the springs the same.
Heres some pictures of the drop. 1.5 inches in the front with stock set up on the rear.

You wont find just the front springs. Also the car wont sit level. While the front has more gap than the rear the car is still sitting level. The front just has the wheel arches cut higher than the rear. I wouldnt do it.

Looking at all the mfr's, looks like Tanabe has the greatest difference in front/rear drop. Right now the front looks like it's riding twice as high as the rear, like I'm carrying cement in the trunk or something! Maybe H&R, I don't know...

If you put in high rate springs to drop the front only, it will change the handling dynamics. The car already has lots of understeer when stock. The change will make the front stiffer, and the car will understeer even more than before. Not desirable. Everyone wants to reduce the amount of understeer when upgrading to aftermarket suspension parts.
