Hey guys. I got my springs today and I'm just wondering, how hard is this DIY to do? I know that's an awfully vague question but I'm not sure how else to say it lol Basically the deal is, I was gonna rent a compressor and do it myself with my brother, but now my dads saying he doesn't want me to do it, just because of the danger of it. But from what I've read, it doesn't seem all that dangerous when using the compressor. Am I wrong? I'd rather do it myself so I can learn how and of course save money, so what's your guys' advice? PS I'm 18 with not much experience with cars, but lots of experience with other mechanical things i.e bikes, dirt bikes, small engine stuff.

and use the compressor properly

and your car is safely on stands and not just on floor jacks and i hope not scissor jacks.

and make sure your work area is neat so you don't have anything to slip on or trip over...

its very easy/safe to use the compressor when you have the right tools. get yourself an electric impact gun if you dont have one. buy one and return it after you complete the job if you cant afford one.

Its very easy and safe to do, as long as you use your head. Spring compressors are safe to use, you dont need any special tools, simple metric wrenches and sockets are all you need. Air tools make the job easier but are not needed.

alright thanks guys! I went to my dads buddies shop and he guessed around $500 just to do the swap.. I figured that was really high but my dad thinks its reasonable. Either way, I don't wanna spend that much if I can do it for free, and learn shit lol
