Dipping my 02 TL-S rims
#2
If you're thinking about getting them chromed there is a site for that. Something like chrome4you.com ro something close.
For $800 this guy will send you a set of the same factory rims for your car chromed and you send him back your stock aluminum (unscratched or damaged) wheels when you get the tires changed over.
Better yet...try this place:

I took my 03 TLs to Discount Tire Company (may be called America's Tire Company) where you are. I had mine chrome exchanged for $700. They look great!! I get compliments all the time and they shine, boy do they shine. I think they are at least triple chrome plated. It's a thick chrome, but no flaws or anything.

For what it's worth there is no such thing as "triple chrome plating". The plating process involves plating with nickle, copper(?) and chrome and each step can only be done once. That's where shops try to make there plating sound more durable than others, it's realy the same.

Sterling McCall Acura in Houston had an exchange program along time ago for like 100 or 200 (cant remember) a piece. Give em yer old rim they give you a chrome rim. Might check your local dealer if they do the same.

I had some other chrome wheels on another car and that chrome was more like aluminum foil. I hated driving in the rain because the rear wheels would get flakes of chrome torn off from the water spraying from the front wheels. Sucked...they were Diablo Racing wheels. Got them from Dynamic Wheel and Tire in Cali.. Don't ever buy there. Numerous complaints to the local BBB. Me included.
