well..id keep looking around, some people on this forum, dont understand that some people just cant/wont spend that much on wheels, and they decide to laugh at people that want replicas.

Nobody i know makes a replica CCW wheel of any kind. There are many companies that make mesh style wheels but none that have come even close to replicating CCW's. CCW's are considered to be very reasonably priced wheels and they are very good quality, not sure why'd you want to buy a knock off when they are already priced pretty low compared to HRE's and such.

^^lol i had to laugh when i read that post. HRE are some of the most expensive wheels you can buy. stuff that cost's half as much as HRE is NOT reasonable to most people. That being said most replicas look like ass.

My advice would be to save slowly and buy the real deal when you can afford it. Might take several months but it's well worth it

there's plenty of reasons why people laugh at replicas. i personally don't support replicas because those companies are stealing designs... as a student in design, i get pissed off when people use my ideas without permission or money :P

if you can't afford them or aren't willing to shell out the money, it wasn't meant to be.

^^TRUE..

but nobody can make it like the original the average joe won't be able to tell, but a car enthusiast can easily point out replica wheels. i dont mind people running reps as long as they dont try to make them look original (authentic centercaps, decals, etc.) because there are always ways to tell a fake

the only disagreement i have with that is that the higher end companies could sell their wheels for half the price and still profit..

name brands do this all the time with no real reason other than to make money.

having said that, i'd rather have the real deal myself...
but i usually settle for 2-3 sets of low-medium priced wheels for diversity.

i dont think replica companies are always bad thing... they sell to people who realize that a company that sells a set of wheels for 3k only spent 500 bucks to make them

you have to have options available to everyone.. less fortunate people shouldnt be forced to have ugly wheel designs b/c they cant afford expensive ones

If it costs $500 to make a $3000 set of wheels, how much does it cost to make a set of $500 replicas? I'm sure the percentage of profit is lower, but it scares me a little, especially when you hear about Rota's failing.

imo, an exception to make replicas would be a discontinued product, such as the ua4/ua5 mugen trunk spoiler, (especially with the cf option) thank Marcus for that haha, or like Rockstar said, a company basically making a ridiculous profit from each product sold.

i would say this...everyone has stolen a design from some where. Being original is really hard these days. Just b/c Works, or CCW, or any company have a popular wheel doesn't mean they originally came up with it. They could have just had better publicity toward the wheel so everyone thinks anything that looks like that is a replica/knock off.

i would suggest Kyowa Evolves I think they are nice and price isn't that bad

I think this is probably one of the only wheel styles that does not have a knock-off.
