Lightbulb Apexi Coilovers for cheap....maybe

I'm not looking to get anyone's hopes up really high, but I thought I'd mention this so that folks can start watching this thread to see how things turn out. I missed out on group buys at other forums when the Apexi WS coilovers were sold. However, I found a place the other day that might have some in. I placed an order and they should arrive Friday. After I check them out, I'll post here about the transaction and the final cost. Stay tuned!

Should they? Am I posting something wrong? I'm not selling anything or representing anybody. I'm just passing along info for people in case this deal works out.

Mods, if I'm violating some policy, please let me know. It is not my intention.

You're not coordinating a group buy so there is no violation. You're being a great member by passing along savings information to members, and that's what it's all about.

Well, the reason that I'm being rather vague about this deal is I'm waiting to make sure these are the right ones. They are the ones listed for the Honda Accord, but those are the Apexi ones that fit our TL. I'd hate to get people all worked up only to find out they have the wrong ones. If it works out, people will love it. Mine should be here Friday to check out...for...get this...$554 shipped.

they are better than Tein Basics and with a higher spring rate than Tein SS and Basic

Okay, I just got them in this evening, and they seem to be the real deal. Here's a summary of my transaction. I e-mailed the sales department asking if they had any in stock. They replied that they didn't, but that they could get them in 1-2 days. So, I placed an order on May 4th. It took a few days before they responded, but I tried to be patient. Finally, I received an e-mail on the 6th that they were processing my order. On the 9th, I got a message that they had shipped and would arrive on the 13th.

My thoughts:
The shipping is high, but the price is low. What should ship for $40-50 cost $95. However, that was offset by the fact that the coilovers were $479. On top of that, if you purchase more than $195 worth of stuff, there is a $20 off coupon code on the front page of the website. The current one expires May 15th. Since this is the only time I've ordered here, I can't say that things will go so smoothly for everyone, but if you're willing to give it a try, I'd say that Apexi N1 World Sport coilovers for $554 shipped is quite a steal. Remember to shop for them under the HONDA ACCORD section...not the Acura section.

So, if you're game, head to www.racerwheel.com and give it a try. Good luck!

btw, i know it's for the accord, but si this the same part number for the TL as well?

I'm just worried that this might end up like the H&R spring situation..where it fits, but just wasn't meant for it.. so it sagged.. ..

?? but still, a very good deal !

I have these coilovers and im pretty sure it doesn't sag because your're able to raise the height to your choice of height. if its too low, raise it up..
but sounds like a good deal to me.

they don't sag, the spring rate is firmer than the Teins

stable in smooth road but gets very bumpy when the road is uneven

I think I'll be ordering from them next month to replace my Tein S-Techs.....
479 is a good deal... especially for coilovers...

Although mine will cost 618.55 b/c of shipping and handling to Canada....

Atleast this is something that I can afford compared to Tein Basics...

aorund 1.75 inches

but for best results you need to do 2.5 inches, that gives the car better performance

i paid 120 dollar brokage and tax with mine, you probably costs more since my set was 500US

there's one way you can do is ask a frd who's a US resident and bring it up to you in canada. then you will be tax free

samkws,

did you go with 2.5 inch drop? Or 1.75 inch drop?
I saw pics of your car, it looks like a H&R sport drop

hell no, mine is way lower than H&R sport drop

i have almost 2.75 in drop and it has almost no finger gap

H&R sport still gives you 2 finger gap after the drop

Just like cars; although they may be discontinued, they will keep servicing the products.

Sam, even if the quality was excellent, it wouldn't keep the shocks from blowing or being damaged in an accident, etc. It's a valid question.
