AP2 S2000 OEM Rims on 02 TL-S
Will the OEM rims from a AP2 S2000 fit the 02 TL-S? My friend is selling them and I'm wondering if they will fit or not. I did my own research already, but can't seem to find the answer I need.
Stock OEM AP2 Rims:
Front:
17" x 7.0", +55 offset, 215/45 tires
Rear:
17" x 8.5", +65 offset, 245/40 tires
Our TL-S wheels are
17" x 6.5", +55 offset 215/50 tires
From the FAQ, it says > 8.5" will not fit, but what about 8.5"? Also, I read something about the centerbore, but I don't really know what that works.

you could do the fronts, however the rears will most likely be hitting suspension thats a high ass offset... get 2 sets of fronts if you really like the rim.

the funny thing is the other day we put the rear AP2 V1 wheel to my car, and it fitted no problem. I guess what you guys are talking about is that when you drive it, it just wouldn't work?

Since the OEM rims are already 17", why not move up to 18" and sticky summer tires for more handling performance. Then use the OEM 17" for snow tires during the winters.
Remember light-weight rims and light-weight tires. It will do wonders.

The problem is 18" lightweight rims are not cheap...I'm interested in Work CR Cai and/or Volk TE37 because I think they look good, but the CR's aren't really light, and the Volks are very pricey. Still even 4 used 17" CR's would be around $1000 in my area (to save shipping), while 18" TE37's are more like $2000. On the other hand, my friend is letting go of his AP2 rims for $650 and he will also help me paint them. As a student, I don't want to spend too much money on cars.

Yes, the Volk TE37's are very good forged rims, except that they're very expensive. The OZ Ultraleggera is a mid-range priced light-weight rim to consider if you like it's look.

i wouldnt think the 8.5 is the problem. guys are running wider than that in the rear. what throws me off is the +65et, but couldnt you just run spacers to clear the brakes? 10-15mm and i think the setup would be pretty cherry. but then you'd need fenderwork, smaller tire size, etc other things you may not wanna look into. might not be worth all the hassle for some other honda's oem 17's.
