ADR rims

bought some 18" ADR sokudo 10 wheels for my tl . Ever since i installed the wheels, the steering wheel would shake at 55mph and up. Had the wheels balanced and rebalanced but nothing worked.

THEN i realized i never bought the hubcentric rings that were recommended!!!!

Boy what a difference these rings make!!! I went back and ordered them, put them on myself and the car drives much better, like Night and Day!!!!!

lesson learned dont be cheap like I was and make sure to get the hubcentric rings if they are recommended!!!!

well if the rim doesnt center on the hub then you need them. Rings are recommended unless the wheel comes with the proper center bore

yea i just did some quick google research and it seems most adr wheels are not hubcentric, and need the rings. i just never needed rings before, and ive had a ton of aftermarket wheels on my past civics/integras.

i just ordered some polycarbonate rings off ebay for $13.50 shipped. hopefully this is the issue i was having, and nothing greater

great, i think i might have ordered the wrong shit lol.. the hub contact area of my rim is smaller than the hub on the car.. i read that all adr passenger car wheels have a 73mm hub bore, and the TL is 64.x or whatever.. so thats what i ordered, but looking at my car today i think im wrong? or am i just confused here lol

you need a 73mm (outer dia) to 64.1(inner factory hub size) hubcentric rings

something like this

hubcentric rings.

i went back and ordered them from the original wheel seller on ebay. it was actually recommended when i purchased the wheels but i was bein cheap and didnt buy them. dont make the same mistake!!!!

i went back to the seller maybe about 2 months after i bought the wheels and told him i needed the rings, he sent them out asap and just like that, problem solved!!!!!

funny thing is most wheel/ tire garages wont even know you need them. i had my wheels balanced twice at different places and nobody ever recommended hubcentric rings!!!!!.

also, i have another set of ADR rims (ADR victory) on a PT cruiser and the car rides fine with those wheels and no hubcentric rings needed. make sure to read the fiine print!!!!

good luck.

the concept is is that the hub has a lip on it to center and hold the rim, most people thing the lugs do that but the rim needs to sit on that lip to stay centered. If your rim has a smaller dia than the hub, the rim will never sit properly and the rings wont help. you claim the rim has a 73 so that is larger than the factory 64. does the rim sit flus on the rotor surface?

ok i think i get it now, im thinking "hub" as in the whole surface.. when what they are actually talking about is just the hub opening correct? the hole in the middle of the wheel and the hole where the hub nut is correct? makes sense now, sorry i feel dumb lol

yes. There is a small lip on the car side that fits into the wheel to hold it centered.
