Adjustable dampening worth it?

So ive looked through quite a few threads and I cant find a straight answer if the adjustable dampening on the more expensive coilovers were worth it. What do you guys think? What coils do you guys recommend? For just a normal coil i was thinking F&F without a doubt. For the dampeners i was thinking Ksports. Suggestions?

Ability to stiffen or soften the dampening force is worth it imo. It can be set according to the roads in your area or preference and can be adjusted if you want to track the vehicle. Better to be able to adjust it to your needs and preferences instead of dealing with how it came from the factory.

Function forms ride like shit and I'm sure K-sports do too. How low are you trying to go? Slammed and soft don't go well together and I know you wanted to go aggressive with the wheels which pretty much means you probably wont ever be switching to "softer" for comfort. I'm sure making them more stiff makes the ride even more terrible. If I could do it again though I'd spend the extra hundred and get the Megan EZ instead of F2, that way I could keep the front at the regular setting and stiffen up the rears a bit.

I wanna go about a half inch lower in the front and maybe a inch lower in the rear. Here is a pic for reference. I like how the car rides now, I'm on KYB struts and Tein S techs.

Truth lol... You should expect a stiffer ride switching to coilovers anyway but my F2's aren't really as bad a ride as people say.. Also remember when your running low profile/stretched tire setups your taking away from comfort also..

But to OP, if your planning on running an aggressive wheel setup id say the adjustable dampening would be helpful... Having went with the type ones, I can say I wish I would have just picked up the type 2 or any other set with adjustable dampening because it can really be helpful in dialing in your ride on aggressive setups... If your planning on slamming I think you'd def benefit.. Thinking of swapping my type ones out for type 2's this spring actually!

Its not how stiff they are, they're an inexpensive shit coilover that are good for making your car look nice. Thats it. If I rode on my F2's like i did on my Tokico/Tein setup I would probably blow a coilover or hit a bump and end up hitting a tree. Preloads are stock. OP, if you really only want to go with another .5 and want an adjustable damper I would wait for reviews on the new coils Excelerate have for sale or go with some Tein SS, but honestly I think you'll want to have more room to adjust height than those have to offer.

loosen the spring perch collars. measure spring length

spring should be seated snug into bottom perch and top seat. it shouldn't be too loose that you will be able to move up and down but just enough so that you can spin them with very little effort

or you can always follow F2's steps.. release, measure. tighten bottom spring collars .5 mm up to be exact.

or if all else fails.. you want better ride...

you can always upgrade your no name brand springs to Swift springs.

any inexpensive coilover you buy, you'll get same springs..

In my opinion the damping option is worth it. Most people who opt for coilovers late regret and wish they spent the extra couple hundred dollars.

If you are looking for a suspension with adjustable ride height, adjustable damping, good ride quality, choice of spring rates, and capable of being serviced in the US I would consider our new XLR8 ISC coilovers.
