225/55/16 tires

Hi

A quick and probably stupid question.

I have a 2000 3.2TL that have tire size 205/60/16 on it. Would there be any problem if I switch the tires to 225/55/16 ?

Thanks in advance

A classic Plus-0 upgrade with a ton of awesome tires available in that size, very nice!

If you choose to stick with the stock 16" wheels, this is the tire upgrade to do!

Agreed. I just put on 225/55's on my TL last week. Very happy with the look and ride. Very cost-effective, too.

I was running 225/55/16 Yokohama avid v4s' and they were great, until i upgraded to type-s rims.
By the way the 225/55/16 are for sale with less than 500 miles on them (do a search for them in the black market)

One drawback might be lower gas mileage due to higher rolling resistance. The wider tires also get noisier as they wear. I have 30k miles on my 225s and they are getting louder and louder( even with rotating and balancing every other oil change). But they look GREAT on my '99TL so its give and take. BTW, I got 70k miles on the original Mich tires and great gas mileage, but when I went shopping for tires they were about 2xs the price of the G-Force KDWS.
