18x8 aspecs
Hi fellers. I need some advice on these 18x8 aspecs. Im dropped on tein basics with 1 finger gap. When i turn my wheels in the front it sounds like the wheels are hitting the fender well. Especially while turning n going over a bump. Will me going to 215/40/18 tires help to eliminate this problem? I currently have 225/45/18 tires from the sale wit good thread left. Or will i have to raise the car? I would love to keep my current height, but cant stand it tearing my fender up. Thanks in advance ya all!

WOW what a nice car. I tend to agree with what my fellow member opined on. Why not raise the car up .5" all around. If not, the tire size was wrong from the get go. When I had my 03 CL-S6, I had 18x7.5 Volk SE-37A's. I had 225/40's on it and no rubbing however i had H&R Sport springs on it.

OP I would raise the car slightly before going and dishing the money out for new tires. it would suck to spend the money on new tries and then still have to raise the car.

those 225/45s are too tall. go with 225/40 since the roads around here are terrible. 215/40 is a little too small. actually, i don't remember rubbing that much when i was on A-specs with 235/40s. i think i was at no finger gaps too.

the offset is plus 42 on these from what i remember. The back rub a bit when theres passenger which dont bother me so much. Its the front that makes me crazy hitting the fender. I probably would go to a shop to raise anyway.. 40 bucks save me time. So 225/40/18. Im worried 235 might be too wide.. anyone else think its a waste to repair 2 leaking rims? How do u roll fronts? Is there such thing?

Would it be possible to remove the fender liner and gain a bit more clearance inside? Maybe removing the liner and rolling the fenders would take care of it. I'm not that low and have not needed to roll fenders, only cut tabs thus far.

Lift the car and see where its rubbing. You may be able to trim part of your fender liner. There is nothing you can do about it though while the wheel is turned other than drive slower. You can roll/stretch the fenders and it will give you more room.
Im running 18x8 (+55) with a 255/35 without any rubbing with a light roll/stretch on the front and rear.
