Wipers turn on with fog lights

There are two symptoms that both started for me about a month ago.

First when I turn on the fog lights, the wipers start running continuously. I have to turn off the fog lights, and cycle the wiper switch from off, to on, to off for the wipers to eventually stop.

Second when you turn on the low beam / HID lights they work until you drive the car about 15’ then the passenger side/right low beam HID light turns off, and at the same time the wipers start running. Usually the wipers will shut off on there own but the right low beam remains off.

Because of my second issue I have gain a lot of insight from this forum on HID issues. In fact I have already replaced or fixed the passenger side Inverter/Ballast, Harness Connector, Igniter, and HID Bulb. There is 13.5-15.0 Volts going to the light, I have moved the light and horn relays around. I have also confirmed that the passenger side assembly works on the driver side with no problem.

During these repairs I discovered that the passenger front corner has been repaired from a minor accident. This was not disclosed in the Car Fax report when I purchased the used car either.

I’m hoping to get advice to find the cause of the first problem with the fog lights and wipers as I believe it is related to my second problem of no low beam on the passenger side when I’m driving.

Thanks

i looked at the schematic and it seems like it could be 1 of 2 problems. its either a ground issue on that passenger side because the circuits your talking about are ground on the passenger side by the ac compressor connector. or you have a bad switch. try looking on the passenger side and making sure the ground wires are all bolted down and have a good connection to the body. rub sand paper on the body and the connectors to make sure theres no paint on either of them. if there was any body work done to the car this could likely dix your issue. if not its probably a bad headlight, fog light or wiper switch.
i hope this helps. keep us posted if you need more help with this problem.

Thanks I will check the ground wire connection tonight. Does any of this circuit run though one of the computer modules? If this does not work, the car has an appointment with a dealer in the morning. I was not able to find schematics on the web so your advice is much appreciated.

The fog light circuit doesn't run out to any computer modules. It's a standalone circuit, only interfaces to the headlight circuit.

Thank you! Cleaning the paint at the ground connection, including underneath the bolt washer fixed my problems. All of them! I can now cancel my morning appointment with the dealer! I’m sure you just saved me $100’s of dollars.

Thanks again!
