WIERD A/C issue - fstty, have you done THIS b4?
Ok, so I got me a little issue.
About a week ago I was driving around with the AC on and then all of the sudden it starts blowing hot air. I turned it off and on, I tried just hitting the AC button, I tried full auto vs. manual all to no avail. The next time I get in my car, the AC is pumping again, and I think the air was actually colder. I tried turning up the temp manually to above the outside temp and it was still really cold air. This stayed the same for for about 2 days. Then it started blowing hot air again.
Basically it's a problem I can't reproduce unless I leave it at the shop for a week. My first thought was I needed more freon, but if that was the case I'd NEVER have cold air.
It's an 03 TLS with 35k miles. I have an appointment for warrenty service, but my fear is they'll come back saying I need a feon recharge and raped on pricing.
Anyone have any thought on this?
Thanks,
Joe

could be acouple things. 1 being low on r132a, if its low the pump wont want to work correctly. it could be in the hvac controls also. if your still under waranty it shouldnt matter whats wrong with it. it should be covered.
bring it up when you bring it in for warranty work!

i actually have the opposite problem where if i have the heat on for a while it begins blowing cool air. so i usually crank the heat up a few notches and it resumes. hmm, i wonder if i need a new control unit as well. my a/c is cold as hell though.
