Wheel screeching with TCS light

Last month when I started my car up in the morning and accelerated out of my driveway, my car would make a sort of rubbing sound. But as the car warmed up the sound seemed to go away.

Last week when I started my car, the sound seemed to never go away, everytime I would accelerate a wierd rubbing/scraping. But I ignored it.

Today, everytime I accelerate I hear a very loud scraping sound almost as if something is scraping on the ground from my passenger side tire. And at the same time this is occuring, the TCS light pops up for a fraction of a second.

I have no clue what the problem is, I checked everything on my passenger side wheel well and saw nothing hanging or broken. But I could be wrong.

Anybody have a suggestion?

Stop peeling out.

Anyway...

I would take the wheel off and inspect everything.

I'd say your brake caliper has clamped up . . . you've been driving like this for some time and that wore down your pads.....

Solution: get caliper fixed and new brake pads.

90% sure . . .somebody confirm or deny what I said please.

forgot to mention, you may have damaged your disc driving like that. Disc may need to be resurfaced or replaced.

have you noticed a drop in gas mileage?

Take your wheel off and inspect the brake pads rotor etc.. Make sure nothing is hanging up or worn.

I dont understand why anything consistent would be the case. It went a way for a month after I cleaned the egr and jacked up the driver side.

If its coming from the wheel area the EGR cleaning had NOTHING to do with it. It was pure coincidence that it stopped then.
That is why you have to take things off and inspect them.
