Wrong. Damage can occur from over tightening them. You can break lug bolts, distort the wheel and cause warped rotors. Never use an impact gun to tighten them, or put as much pressure as you can. Torque them properly

you can most certainly strip them with basic arm pressure... i have done it many times when i was younger.

not to toot my own horn here.. :beepbeep:
but i've snapped off studs from tightening/loosening lugs before as well.

luckily i grew up and realized a torque wrench is > arms..
