I put the car in reverse and then d5 the d5 started blinking, vsa, ! , and check engine light came on. my acceleration in first gear was horrible and I dont think it was shifting much after that. So yeah Tranny right? but I had it parked for 2 days so I went out to start it up and the battery was completely dead. I got a jump from the wife's car and as soon as I took the cables off the car died. Anyone experience this before? or can tell me what I should do.

 

As far as your car dying I have no idea. But how many miles are on it and how old is it becuase a blinking D5 with the other two lights diffenently means tranny problems.

Sounds like the tranny and as for it dying, sounds like the car didnt have enough power to keep it running. Get it to the dealer and have them check the trans

 

Just got back from the stealer today and now I see why you guys call it that. They claim that there is a part that has gone bad on the tranny and that because its not a completey damage tranny its not under warranty. They also said that the engine light came on from bad 02 sensors and that there's something in the fuse box thats causing the alternator to not work properly. It's just not making sense to me, I put the car in reverse and then drive and the d5 blinks the tranny fails the sensors go bad and the alternator (fuse box) dies)? The grand total was $1100

$365 tranny part
$200 sensor
200sensor
$200 some alternator fuse part
$57 for a 3rd breaklight bulb

I would appreciate any second opinion you guys can offer

 

Well how does it run now? I have never heard of that happening before normally when people say D5 from what i heard it means new tranny. Do you know what part they said was bad?

 

No but I'm gonna find out today, the service has not been done yet

Hopefully, the car runs fine now.. it better for that kinda moolah!
