weird thing with radio???? (stock)
i was sitting when i decided to back up a lil the all the sudden my radio went down one station (as if i pressed the - button once)i figured i pressed it by accident. then a few minutes later while in my car waiting for alternate side parking to be over it did it again WTF

well it did happen again a few seconds after i started my car. then while driving it didnt happen at all.
So no where on your display does it say "A.SEL"?
That is a feature called Automatic Select. It's for you to use when you are travelling, and it will automatically chose radio stations for you based on signal strength. I figured it could be that you had the feature turned on, and perhaps the signal strength on your station became weak so the car found a station with a stronger signal. But if that feature isn't turned on, or you know for a fact that's not what happened, I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

Even with an 00 you have that feature. Look for the button on the headunit, it's likely a double-function button. On my 02 it has a function when the CD is playing, and on FM the same button activates Automatic Select. I've hit it by mistake before and had the radio do weird stuff. Just an idea, who knows..
